This bike is supplied with a 6 month warranty covering manufacturing and materials defects. The warranty does not cover mistreatment or poor maintenance. Please ensure all the details on the warranty sheet supplied with the bike are adhered to. Certain circumstances (such as stripped threads or rounded crank arm tapers) only occur due to a lack of correct maintenance and all manufacturers are aware of these situations, so any claims due to incorrect maintenance procedures are much less likely to be successful.

We build this bike to a 100% complete state in our workshop before dispatch to ensure all items are manufactured correctly and nothing is missing, but we do have to remove some parts to ensure there is no damage during transit. You will need some basic tools (usually 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm allen keys and a 15mm spanner) for final assembly upon arrival. We have a video guide here to help, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance.

Questions

Davey

Hello, i purchased this bike second hand and looking to upgrade to a longer stem. Do you know what size this one is standard Nd is the 180mm a good upgrade. Thanks

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Davey!
The Sting, as standard, comes with a 140mm x 35 stem.
As the Sting is aimed at riders between 120-150cm, this is usually a good size. If you're above that height then a longer stem like a 180mm would be a good idea to try and improve the 'reach' of the bike, but it will still feel a little small compared to a 20" trials bike aimed at adults/riders over 150cm.

Will

Hi so im 15 turing 16 needing a beginer bike would this be good, thanks

Hi Will - We recommend this bike for riders under 5ft/1.50m tall. If you're under that height then it'd be a good option to go for, but if you're over 5ft/1.50m, the Onza Tyke would be the bike for you. It's a very similar bike but scaled up, so would fit better. Thanks, Mark

ben

y not have a seat

Posted by ben

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Ben - these bikes do not have a seat as they add unnecessary weight to the bike, and they simply get in the way. With no seat, there is more room to move around the bike without getting caught, which comes in very handy when pushing your boundaries. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Mats Nordström

Hi..I have a question about the gear ratio on the "STING". In the bike information you mention a bigger rear sprocket/freewheel to get this bike lighter to pedal.. My which is to get this bike more easily tto pedal. Which sprocket are the options for this bike? Is it just 16 to 18 teeth that are the difference or are there other options? Would you please indicate what options are available and which artilckel numbers have different sprockets that fit this bike .. thanks in advance regards Mats

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Mats - thanks for your question. Since you currently have a 16t freewheel on the rear, your options are either an 18t, or if you want an even lighter gear ratio than that, the Echo TR 20t, or the ENO 20t or 22t freewheel would also work. This would make the gear ratio very light indeed though. Most of our freewheels will work on your bike, the only one that will not is the Tensile freewheel since it is an open-bearing freewheel with the lockring on the front rather than the back. The Echo SL is wideley regarded as the best freewheel around at the minute, though if you're looking for a slightly cheaper option then the Rockman 72 Click option is also very good. Hope that helps! Thanks, Flipp.

Anthony

Could you take the Onza Rip and the Onza Sting both offroad on grass or generally mountain biking>?

Posted by Anthony

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Anthony - both those bikes are perfectly at home off-road, though because of the gear ratio and having no seat, covering any real distance on them is quite hard work. Thanks, Flipp.

ryan

How old do you have to be to ride this bike?

Posted by ryan

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Ryan - there's no age limit as such, though because of the size of the bike we advise that it is used by people between 120 and 150cm. Hope that helps! Thanks, Flipp.

Josh

Can you add a saddle to the Sting bike?

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Josh - I'm afraid you can't. There is no mounting system whatsoever. Thanks, Flipp.

Alexandru

Looks good and resistant

Posted by Alexandru

It is a nice good quality bike for beginner kids. It's tough and will probably last for a lot of bashes and smashes , but could be a little lighter, for 8 year olds to handle easier. It came with a bent v-brake pad and the upper headset was not inserted properly, but it was sorted out at the closest workshop in 15 min so no need for hassle...

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Alexandru - I'm glad you like the bike! Sorry to hear about the problems you had with it though. We set all the bikes up before they leave so theoretically this sort of situation shouldn't arise. If you can send us an e-mail and let us know exactly what happened with your bike we can hopefully try and work something out with you, and also try and avoid anything like this happening again in the future. Apologies again for the problem, but hopefully you'll still be happy with the bike for a long time to come.
