Echo Lite SL

Dispatch time 3-5 days - this bike is assembled in our workshop before dispatch. Minor assembly required on arrival, details supplied with bike.

  • Assembled from scratch in our workshop to ensure the highest quality build.
- Super light-weight complete bike built around the brand new Echo Lite SL Mk4 frame!
- Featuring several tweaks and refinements over previous models improving looks, performance and weight!
- This is Echo's first complete bike to feature a tapered integrated head tube - this means the steerer tube expands from 1 1/8" at the top of the steerer tube to 1.5" at the crown, and uses sealed bearings that sit directly in the frame without the need for any press-in cups.
- Triple butted spokes, and titanium bottom bracket axle, pedal axles, freewheel and bolts throughout the entire bike help reduce weight.
- Integrated chain tensioners as seen on several previous Echo models make setting up your chain super easy and are hidden out of the way.
- A splined rear sprocket and splined freewheel make fitting and removing easier than ever before.
- Rainbow titanium bolts throughout make the bike look great!
- An upgrade to Monty Eagle Claw Pro Race tyres helps save a substantial amount of weight and improve performance.

All bikes may feature small blemishes in the anodising or marks in the finish of other components - this does not affect your warranty.

This bike is supplied with a 6 month warranty covering manufacturing and materials defects. The warranty does not cover mistreatment or poor maintenance. Please ensure all the details on the warranty sheet supplied with the bike are adhered to. Certain circumstances (such as stripped threads or rounded crank arm tapers) only occur due to a lack of correct maintenance and all manufacturers are aware of these situations, so any claims due to incorrect maintenance procedures are much less likely to be successful.

We build this bike to a 100% complete state in our workshop before dispatch to ensure all items are manufactured correctly and nothing is missing, but we do have to remove some parts to ensure there is no damage during transit. You will need some basic tools (usually 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm allen keys and a 15mm spanner) for final assembly upon arrival. We have a video guide here to help, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance.

Questions

AXI

What is the weight difference without the tires between "Echo Lite SL MK4" and the cheaper "Echo Lite MK6"? The "Monty Eagle Claw Pro Race" on the SL are much lighter than the "Maxxis Creepy Crawler" at the cheaper bike. What I found out: The SL bike is 1kg lighter, but the Monty tires are 570g lighter. So the much more expensive SL itself is only 430g lighter. -->Is this true? Why are not both bikes equipped the Monty tires? They cost nearly the same but the Monty is much lighter. Does it has a disadvantage (to filigree)?

Hi Axi - "Nearly the same" isn't quite the case for the Monty and Maxxis tyres, especially when trying to make a bike hit a certain price point. 25 difference in price when the total price of a bike is 729 is quite a big change relatively speaking, but also Maxxis offer tyres to manufacturers at a much better price so the manufacturers can save money on the tyres to improve other parts of the spec. This means if the Lite Mk6 was fitted with Monty tyres the retail price would jump up by more than the difference in the price between the two tyres. Similarly, saving weight on bikes gets progressively harder the lighter they get, and also gets more expensive. As a result, that extra weight saved on the Lite SL will come at a higher price. Over 400g of weight saving is a good amount difference too, especially considering the Lite Mk6 is a light bike to begin with. To save that weight you start having to use titanium parts (such as the titanium freewheel on the SL which costs over double the steel version) which boosts the price up a lot. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks, Mark

Hi JarmoK - This bike should be fine for you, although the only thing to note is that it will feel quite alien compared to your other bikes. If you're also riding mountain bikes (or similar big wheeled bikes) we would recommend looking at something like the Echo Pure 26" - you'll find that the skills you learn will cross over more readily, simply because there are more similarities between bikes. That said, your height and weight wouldn't be an issue with the Lite SL, and both the Lite and Pure range of bikes are a great option to look at! Thanks, Mark

Matt

what is the difference between this and the echo lite 2016 mk4 ?

Hi Matt - The Lite SL and Lite bikes use different frames and components. Almost all the parts that can be are made of titanium rather than steel for the SL model, which reduces weight significantly (although does increase price). The frame is also quite different too in terms of the tubing and design. Overall, the only real similarity between the two is the name - most of the parts on the bike are different between the two. Thanks, Mark
