Pro-Carbon Racing Carbon Fibre Downtube Protector

Sold out

- Super light-weight, high performance carbon fibre down tube protector, hand made in the UK!
- Protects your frame from dents and knocks that can shorten the lifespan of your frame.
- Neat design allows the protector to simply clip on to the round downtube of your frame (supplied with adhesive pads to ensure perfect fit if required).
- Available in 2 diameters to fit almost all frames. To work out which size will fit your frame, simply measure the diameter of your downtube. We might not be certain what size your frame is, so the best way is for you to measure! If it is 43-46mm, choose Small. If it's 47-54mm go for the Large.
- Length: 260mm
- Weight: 39g (small)

Examples of frames we have found to work with Small and Large diameter versions are listed below, but we always recommend measuring your frame using the details in bold and do not take responsibility for purchase of the incorrect size.

Small protectors are designed to fit frames with approx 44mm diameter downtubes:
Speedrace FANS, Rockman Manus / Aurem / Akali, ZOO! Python (depending on year), ZOO! Piranha (depending on year), ZOO! Lynx (depending on year), Echo Lite and SL, Echo Pure and SL, Echo Trial 24", Echo Team, Echo Control (2010 and later), Echo Urban, Czar 24, Inspired Fourplay, Onza Comp 2010 (Grey and Purple), Onza Blade 2010 (White and Gold), Koxx Hydroxx (requires the use of supplied adhesive pads).

Large protectors are designed to fit frames with approx 50mm diameter downtubes:
Koxx Sky frames, Rockman Slate II, Rockman Switch, Rockman Radix, ZOO! Python (depending on year), ZOO! Piranha (depending on year), ZOO! Lynx (depending on year), Crewkerz Cleep II 20".

These protectors can be made to fit frames with curved (Monty Kamel) or non-circular downtubes (Rockman Kortz) in most cases, but will usually need extra fixings such as zip ties.

Additional Information

Internal diameter of "Small" guard: 42mm.
Internal diameter of "Large" guard: 48mm.

To see installation and removal of the guard, as well as a demonstration of it's ability to protect your frame, please watch the following video:

Hi Chris - To check which size you require, you can measure the diameter of your downtube and compare it to the sizes listed (Small = approx. 44mm, Large = approx. 50mm). Thanks, Mark

will this fit on the onza limey 320 mod frame as it has a unique frame styling and curver downtube?

Posted by Ryan on 02/04/2011

Reply from TartyBikes on 04/04/2011

Hi Ryan - The Small protector would be the closest fit - the lower end clips on reasonably well, although you'd need to use the supplied sticky pads to try and keep the top end of the protector on your frame correctly. Thanks, Mark

What size would fit an inspired fourplay? Thanks!

Posted by Tom on 12/07/2011

Reply from TartyBikes on 13/07/2011

Hi Tom - You'd need the Small. Thanks, Mark

Hi would that fit on a t-pro frame?

Posted by James on 04/09/2011

Reply from TartyBikes on 05/09/2011

Hi James - I believe that one of the two sizes of protector should fit on a T-Pro, but without measuring one I'm not 100% sure which one it'd be. If you measure the diameter of your downtube, you can double check which size you'd need by checking out the protector dimensions listed at the bottom of the product page. Thanks, Mark

Posted by Joe on 08/12/2011

Hi Joe - The sizing refers to the diameter of the guard. For your Sting, you would require a Small guard. Thanks, Mark

Hi do you think this will fit an Intense Socom frame

Posted by Mark on 31/03/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 02/04/2013

Hi Mark - Unfortunately we don't have any experience with that particular frame, sorry! If you're able to measure the diameter of your down tube and see if that fits into the sizings on the website then that should help out, hopefully. The guards are supplied with little adhesive tabs that help sticky them to the frame if they don't clip-on on their own, so if you get the closest size then hopefully it should be possible to make it work. Thanks, Mark

What size for 20" Rockman Flint?

Posted by Nathan on 17/05/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 17/05/2013

Hi Nathan - You would need a Small downtube protector for the Flint. Thanks, Mark

would the large size fit on a 51.5mm downtube? I don't want to order it and risk damaging my frame or the guard trying to fit it.

Posted by Chris46VR on 04/06/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 04/06/2013

Hi Chris - The Large guard should fit on your frame fine. If it's a little loose fitting you can use the sticky pads supplied with the guard, but it should be perfect hopefully! Thanks, Mark

Small or big for an ozonys skill 24"?

Hi Swenen - thanks for your question. That frame would require the Small version. Thanks, Flipp.

Hi would it fit an onza comp 2010?

Posted by Danny on 07/07/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 08/07/2013

Hi Danny - thanks for your question. They do not fit totally flush as they would on a straight-tubed frame, but they can be made to fit. It usually requires a bit of experimentation and would require a few extra fixings - zipties are the usual choice. Thanks, Flipp.

Hi. Which do I need to buy for the Echo Lite dual disc 2013? Thanks.

Posted by loeke on 29/08/2013

Hi Ioeke - for that frame you'd need the "small" option. Thanks, Flipp.

Hi Manuel - thanks for your question. Yes, the downtube has a 48mm diameter, so would require the large version. Thanks, Flipp.

Mats Hult

Hi Is it possible to get a downtube protector special made for an Ozonys V4 20` frame. And how much would it cost? Best regards Mats Hult

Posted by Mats Hult on 09/03/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 10/03/2014

Hi Mats - thanks for your question. Unfortunately not. We do not manufacture these protectors and so have no say in making a one-off, special version. Thanks, Flipp.

Eric Lorenzo Benjamin Jr.

Hello, I'd like to know which version woud fit the ozonys cannibal. I don't have the frame yet to measure myself. THANKS

Posted by Eric Lorenzo Benjamin Jr. on 11/05/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 12/05/2014

Hi Eric - thanks for your question. The frame's downtube does not have a round profile, so neither would fit perfectly. You could use a Small one, but it would still require cable ties or something similar to hold it in place and it would not sit flush to most of the tube's surface. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Would a small be best for a onza ice ??

Posted by harry on 12/07/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 14/07/2014

Hi Harry - the Small option would be best for that frame. Thanks, Flipp.

What on will fit a 2012 onza blade 20inch

Posted by Finno on 09/12/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 09/12/2014

Hi Finno - we received the picture of your bike, thanks for that! You need only to measure the downtube of your frame to find which protector will fit your frame. The measurements are shown in the product description. Neither protector will fit your frame perfectly because it has a curved downtube, and these are designed for a straight downtube. Thanks, Flipp.

will these fit the older style zoo! frame where the down tube gets bigger at the bottom

Posted by daz on 28/01/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 29/01/2015

Hi Daz - we're not too sure which year model you mean. If you could measure the diameter of the downtube at either end of where the protector will sit and compare with the measurements listed you will be able to see for yourself. Thanks, Flipp.

Will the large fit a GT Grade Carbon? It has a 60mm Downtube?

Posted by Steve on 04/06/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 04/06/2015

Hi Steve - thanks for your question. Unfortunately even the large model cannot accommodate downtubes with a diameter that large. Sorry about that! Thanks, Flipp.

loeke voncken

hello, will the small one or the large one fit a jitsie 20" frame? thanks, Loeke

Posted by loeke voncken on 11/08/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 12/08/2016

Hi Loeke - The Large is the closest fit, but due to the profile of the down tube I think you may need a ziptie/cabletie or two to keep it in place. Thanks, Mark

Posted by Mikelis on 08/02/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 08/02/2018

Hi Mikelis - We haven't fitted one ourselves, but I believe it would be a Large. Your best bet is to measure your frame's downtube, and compare it to the measurements on the website. Thanks, Mark

Virgile Swenen

Hello, which size for the Crewkerz Freed II?

Posted by Virgile Swenen on 20/08/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 21/08/2014

Hi Virgille - thanks for your question. We have not had access to those bikes yet so cannot be sure, but to find out which size will fit your frame simply measure the diameter of your downtube. If it is 43-46mm, choose Small. If it's 47-54mm go for the Large. If it is larger than 54mm, it may still fit but require extra fastenings (e.g. cable ties) to keep it in place. Thanks, Flipp.
