Does this work with an echo urban fork?

Hi Anthony - yes, that should work just fine. Thanks, Flipp.

How do you install it?

Reply from TartyBikes on 22/04/2014

Hi Roger - thanks for your question. The bottom part sits in the bottom of the fork steerer with the long tube going up inside the length of the tube. The top half then bolts into it from the other side just as it would with a regular star nut. Hope that helps! Thanks, Flipp.

Would this fit the onza zoot fork?

Hi Joshua - yes, this should work just fine with those forks. Thanks, Flipp.

Would this work with the inspired flow? I really need the cable routed threw the steerer tube Thanks

Hi Mark - This would work fine with your Flow. It's a little tight fitting the cable through but does work. Thanks, Mark

Will this fit a V1 skye?

Hi Mike - This kit should fit your V1 Skye fine. Thanks, Mark

Might sound silly, but would it fit a rockshox pike dj?

Posted by John on 24/05/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 25/05/2017

Hi John - We just had a check on one of our bikes running Pike forks and unfortunately it wouldn't work without quite a lot of modification, sorry. Your best bet might be to run the SRAM Turncoat Headlock as that should just fit straight away. Thanks, Mark

Would this work on a pre 2014 fourplay? 2012/2013 i think thanks

Hi Michael - As long as you use the regular/non-tapered version that should be no problem. Routing the hose can be a little fiddly due to the narrower inner diameter but it should be workable. Ideally, on that model of fork, the regular screw-in top cap will be a little easier to use but this should work too. Thanks, Mark

Hello, I'm seeing that this will fit the Inspired Flow but please could you tell me which size I need? Thanks

Posted by Robert on 26/10/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 27/10/2017

Hi Robert - You would need the 'Standard 1 1/8"' size to fit your Flow. Thanks, Mark

Ross Ayres

Does this system work for a onza mini master with v brakes or does it need disc brakes? Thanks

Posted by Ross Ayres on 21/02/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 22/02/2018

Hi Ross - Unfortunately this kind of cable routing doesn't work well for V-Brakes, sorry. It tends to mean the front cable comes to the front brake at an awkward route. I believe the steerer tube on the Mini Master would be too short too, sorry! Apologies we can't be more help. Thanks, Mark

Hi Can I install the stem with this headlock and then remove the headlock and ride without it (less 70g)? I understand that I will have to take the headlock with me for rides just in case, but I usually ride with a backpack, so not a problem. Thanks

Posted by Oleg on 15/03/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 16/03/2018

Hi Oleg - Theoretically you can do, although depending on your stem you might find that your headset will progressively loosen off as you ride. It's less of an issue when BMX riders do it as they have larger stem steerer bolts so can torque them up higher. If you're going to give it a go, make sure your stem bolts are greased on the threads, and also a dab of grease under the bolt head, as this will help your torque them up more effectively which should keep your stem firmly in place and prevent your headset loosening. Thanks, Mark

Vinh Cimiotti

Hi Does it work with a Echo Sl 20´´Fork ?

Posted by Vinh Cimiotti on 29/05/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/05/2018

Hi Vinh - As standard, this won't fit as the SL Fork steerer tube is too short. If you have some tools, you can cut the Headlock main bar down, then drill and tap it to accept the top bolt. Thanks, Mark

Dima Dzhura

Is it compatable with czar ion?

Posted by Dima Dzhura on 16/02/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 16/02/2018

Hi Dima - The Headlock should be compatible with the underside of the fork and the stem on your Ion, but you would need to measure the total distance from the underside of the fork to the top of the stem. You would need a minimum of 205mm for this Headlock to work. If you have more than this, then you would be able to use the Standard 1 1/8" model on your bike. Thanks, Mark
