- New from Trialtech, building upon the tried-and-tested SL Forged Cranks, the Sport Lite Splined ISIS Cranks!
- Tested with team rider Joe Prattley and our very own Cap!
- Using the same super tough arm design as the SL cranks, forged from 6066 aluminium.
- A deeper BB interface on the crank arm allows the cranks to have a reduced Q-factor, whilst still providing a good amount of offset - this reduces flex compared to other cranks on the market.
- The Sport Lite Splined cranks use a conventional ISIS spline interface, meaning maximum compatibility.
- Instead of a traditional threaded section for a freewheel, the Sport Lite Splined cranks feature a Shimano HG-spline interface.
- The freewheel is held in place by a 3-bolt lockring, providing a lightweight, simple way of holding the freewheel in place!
- Supplied with a 108 click, 9 pawl Trialtech Splined 108 freewheel, with upgraded springs as standard giving reliable, positive engagement.
- Also supplied with a Trialtech Sport Lite Splined bashring that mounts to the splined section of the crank arm to prevent any rotation.
- Sold with a pair of black M15 alloy crank bolts.
- Tough anodised matte black finish looks great, and is complimented well by laser etched Trialtech logos.
- Available in 165mm, 170mm and 175mm lengths.
- Weight - Complete kit: 653.7g. Crank arms (175mm): 433.2g. Freewheel: 182.5g. Bashring: 10.8g. Lockring and bolts: 5.7g. Crank bolts and spacers: 21.5g.
- Offset: 32.5mm

Additional Information

Ensure that your pedals are tightened to at least 310 in-lbs (35 Nm) every 5 minutes for the first few rides. Before fitting, it's also a good idea to make sure your pedal axles are clean (a wire brush works well) then greased before installation.
Similarly, always check crank bolt torque is at least 310 in-lbs (35 Nm) every 5 minutes for the first few rides, then each and every ride after that.
Failure to keep your pedals or crank bolts tight as described above is likely damage your cranks and this will not be covered under warranty.

Questions

Ryan McDonald

It looks like the bashring keyways on the crank arm are extended from the 35mm diameter. I assume this means that a standard 35mm bashring will not fit?

Hi Ryan - You're right. The splines are also necessary to prevent the bashring from spinning round when hit. Thanks.

Can I use 'TRIALTECH SPORT FULL BASHRING (UP TO 23T)' on this crank? Is it compatible?

Hi Kim - Unfortunately, the bashring on the Sport Lite crankset is unique to the Sport Lite cranks, so no other bashring is compatible. Sorry about that! Thanks, Mark

Dave

Would a HG splined sprocket fit on these cranks, perhaps with a spacer?

Hi Dave - As long as you have a HG splined sprocket with the necessary 'King spline' (the smaller width spline) on it, it should fit fine as long as you space it all out correctly to suit the lockring. Thanks, Mark

hi im in the process of building a trials bike and plan to run front freewheel. ive found a fixed onza rear hub which takes a part cassette. my question is is this possible to run a parted rear cassette with the narrow 3/32 x 1/2 option front freewheel. i have seen the parted rear cassette and jockey wheel before just wonder whats the best of suitable crank combo to buy to run this option. thanks

Hi Barry - Running that kind of setup should be no problem at all. The freewheels we stock are all designed around 3/32" chains so you'd be spot on with that. In terms of crank options, this Sport Lite Splined Crankset is a handy way to go as you've got all the bits you need there in one go, but you could spec your own cranks, freewheel and bashring too if you wanted. For a slightly cheaper setup you could use a pair of cranks like the Trialtech Race Forged ISIS or Jitsie Forged ISIS Cranks, a TartyBikes CNC Bashring and a Jitsie 108.9 Freewheel - this would come to around 105-109 depending on the specific option you chose, so would save a bit of money. ISIS BBs start from around 35, just so you know. The only other thing worth noting is that we stock a few different fixed rear hubs, so if you wanted to go for a lighter and more straight forward option that using the split cassette on the Onza hub, a fixed rear hub and screw-on sprocket would come to around 70 (based on the Jitsie 135HS Rear Hub and the Echo TR Screw On Sprocket). Hopefully that helps - if you've got any more questions feel free to pop us an e-mail. Thanks, Mark

What bottom bracket works best with this crankset and sprocket?

Hi Erik - The Trialtech Race ISIS or Trialtech Sport Lite ISIS would be good options depending on your budget, but equally the Jitsie ISIS BB would work too. They're also compatible with the Echo Spanish BBs too if you're running an Echo, ZOO!, GU or Czar frame with that type of BB. Thanks, Mark
