jack

would these fit brake mounts? if not which ones would i need?

Hi Jack - there are a few points of consideration when doing this. This reply assumes you are talking about four-bolt brake mounts, not disc or vee. First off: yes - M5x25mm is the size you would need, though on some setups they may be slightly too long and require trimming down - 20mm, the size below, will always be too short and so is not an option. The bolts MUST be greased when used, and a washer must be used between the head of the bolt and the brake clamp. Also bear in mind they are considerably less weak than steel bolts and so are prone to snapping on over-tightening, which is much easier to do than with steel bolts. Thanks, Flipp.

Iím looking for new bolts for my stem will these work require all 6 to be changed

Hi Josh!
We don't recommend alloy bolts for your stem as they aren't capable of taking the same force as the standard steel bolts in most stems.
If you're looking to save weight, we suggest using titanium bolts as they will save you a reasonable amount of weight over standard steel bolts, but will be strong enough for the job.
If you can e-mail us and let us know which stem you're using, we'll do our best to help suggest the correct bolts for it.

Are you able to use these for the 04 styled magura lever?

Hi Laurence - These bolts should fit fine. You may need to trim the bolt down a little, but that shouldn't be much of an issue. Thanks, Mark

Look good but are weak!

Posted by Cai on 15/01/2011

When used as Magura lever bolts these were fine, looked good and sved weight. But when I used them to clamp the Magura slaves it became obvious that these are too weak for the job, two of the heads came clean of when tightening them up - and I in no way overtightened the bolts as the slaves could still move a little. So I'd recomend these for area's that don't demand alot of clamping strength.

Hi Cai - We don't recommend tightening these bolts above 3.5N/m as they can shear/break if tightened more. When installed using grease they tighten up nicely, certainly without causing any damage to the bolt. Sorry to hear you had problems with them!
