- Top class handbuilt wheels from our mechanics with over 20 years and more than 2000 wheels experience, with many satisfied customers to date!
- Tools used: Park spoke wrench, Bicycle Research USA nipple driver, Park TS-2 Professional Truing Stand, Park TM-1 Tension Meter.
- Spoke nipples are lubricated with oil to ensure they can be turned smoothly for many years to come, but still stay tight due to correct and even tension in each spoke.
- All hubs we supply use J-bend spokes.
- We can also build wheels with parts not purchased from us - just place the order online, let us know in the notes field you will be sending in the parts, and include a note when the items when you send them to us.

Turnaround Times

We normally dispatch custom-built wheels within 3-5 working days, often sooner. If our workshop is really busy and it will take longer than this, we will contact you soon after ordering.

To order a wheel build, simply add all the relevant parts to your cart, and then add this item too. If you need two wheels building, please purchase two of this item.

All hubs we stock use J-bend spokes. This is the most common type, and most hubs will use these spokes. Please contact us before ordering if you are supplying the hub, and you are unsure of what you have

If you are purchasing the Halo Alloy Nipples, and would like these used for the build, please include a note on the order

Please select the correct option for the type of spokes being used. Straight pull spokes are more difficult to build with, and can take longer than regular builds. Please only select this option if you are sending a straight pull hub to us.

We do not stock straight pull spokes, so unless you are sending spokes to be used, please do not place an order before speaking to us. We can supply straight pull spokes as a special order item

Customers requesting a postage quotation or paying by bank transfer will have their wheel built in the order that payment is processed.

What brand parts are you using

It largely depends on available stock, and the size of the wheel being built. For anything 24" or smaller, we use Halo or Mutiny plain gauge spokes, and corresponding brass nipples. We'll usually use 14mm brass nipples for 20" or smaller wheels due to the unusual rim profiles necessitating a longer tool fitting. For 26" or larger, we use Sapim or Halo double butted spokes, and corresponding brass nipples.

The brand of spoke we use will depend on available stock. Sometimes one brand isn't available in a given size, but all the brands we use perform the same, and build an equally strong wheel. We can supply other brands of spoke and nipple - if you have a preference, please contact us before placing an order, and we can give you a quote for building with any specific parts you would like.

Perfectly built wheels, which are built very fast too. You can choose the parts you want and they will be built up in no time. I would really recommend it to anyone who isn't a bike mechanic or 100% sure how to do it, especially for a price that low. Really great work!

Ordered my spank rims and hope hubs on the Saturday to be be built, the two wheels were booked in for the Tuesday and Wednesday but the turnaround was so quick they were at my door on the Wednesday morning. The price was a lot cheaper than what my local bike shop would have charged and no doubt a better job. Thanks...

These spokes are more in tune than a concert piano. Very well tensioned, straight as an arrow, quick and cheap. Wouldn't go anywhere else for a wheelbuild after this!

I am in love with tarty builds, wish every wheel in the world were built by them. True down to the last nanometer and almost impossible to buckle, even with low quality rims they always get the build dead straight for cheaper than most other shops! Would deffo reccomend :)

If you don't know exactly what you're doing when building a wheel, then this is the option for you. Perfectly true wheel and half of what I'd have to pay if I went to a bike shop.
