A new product made right here in the UK by us!
- Improves brake performance on a variety of trials brake pads used with a rim grind!
- Cleaner than tar. Doesn't clog the grind, and doesn't cause pads to 'stick' delaying pad return.
- Tarty Bikes Rim Rosin gives your rim brakes a boost in bite and hold, improving braking performance in all conditions!
- Less 'sticky' than tar, Rosin does not cause your brake pads to stick to the rim, and delay their return, when the brake lever is released. It also does not clog the grind if applied correctly.
- Each Rosin puck is made from pure pine rosin powder, with no additives or colours to maintain purity.
- Each puck is made by heating the rosin powder by hand gently to ensure an even transition to a liquid, before pouring into a silicone mould. This method, although time-consuming, ensures that the rosin does not burn, and heats through evenly for equal performance from the first use to the last.
- Each Rosin puck measures approximately 39mm in diameter, and 21mm in thickness.
Please note: as each puck is poured into the mould by hand, the size may vary slightly. No two pucks are the same, but we try to get them as even as possible!
- Supplied in a screw top metal tin to protect the Rosin when stored, ideal for carrying in a backpack. Each puck also comes wrapped in a hand cut, super soft cloth to protect it from shattering if dropped in the tin accidentally.
How to apply
Rosin is
NOT for use on smooth rims or disc brakes. It is intended for use on rims with a grind, and brake pads compatible with the grind being used. Any trials specific brake pad will work with Tarty Bikes Rosin!
1 - Ideally, on the first application, make sure your grind is new, or clean and free from dirt or contamination.
2 - Lightly 'scratch' the rosin onto the rim around its circumference in lines around 3 inches long, spaced an inch apart. You do not need to apply more than this, but you can add more if you prefer.
3 - Repeat step two for the other side of the rim.
4 - If this is the first application, go for a ride once applied, the re-apply as described in stems 1 to 3. After two applications from new, the Rosin will remain effective for approximately 2 to 3 rides.
5 - Top up as described in steps 1 to 3 as and when you feel the performance of the brake starting to decrease. We recommend reapplying after every ride if used in the wet.
