The brand new street trials shoe from Grip!
- The same sole pattern as the pure competition shoe gives excellent grip on flat pedals!
- Comfortable fit and durable construction for use on and off the bike.
- As used by Jack Carthy for his MTB trials edits!
- Building on the huge success of their competition trials shoe, Grip introduces their first shoe specifically for street trials!
- A much more relaxed fit than the compeition shoe, the street shoe is comfortable on and off the bike.
- The street shoe uses the same, tried and tested sole grip pattern, offering excellent grip on flat pedals.
- Unlike the competition shoe, the street shoe uses a solid rubber sole on the base of the shoe. This allows more flex than the stiffer competition shoe which uses a more rigid foam insert. This flexibility helps the shoe to comform to the shape of modern flat pedals, and allows greater foot movement for more dynamic street moves.
- Generously padded heel area and tounge for comfort, and a conforming fit to keep the shoe from moving around too much on the foot.
- A foam rubber insole with a textured heel, arch and front area to prevent it slipping, and moving.
- Durable upper fabric with double stiched pannels and ventilation holes on both sides of the foot arch to help regulate your foot temperature.
- 6 pairs of lace holes, pluse an extra set at the top of the tounge that are reinforced with plastic inserts for secure fit.
- Elasticated lace holder is a really nice touch to keep laces safely tucked away from chains and sprockets!
- A tough loop on the heel, stiched all the way down the back of the shoe to make fitting a little easier.
- Stylish, yet subtle Grip graphic on the toe, with stiched on pleather panneling at the rear give the shoe a really classy and unerstated look.
Ben has been using these shoes for while now on flat pedals, here's what he has to say:
"
I've been a fan of 5Ten freerider shoes for good while, but after a couple of rides with the Grip street shoe, I'm a 100% convert! As good as the freeriders were, I always felt the fit was a little tight, and they developed a bit too much flex once worn in. The Grip shoe, for me, offered more room at the front of the foot, and is noticeably stiffer than the freerider shoe, which I think is better suited to trials generally given the nature of the impacts, and forces through the pedals.
The quality is superb, and after a couple of months of use the sole is showing minimal signs of wear, and all the stiching / panneling is where it should be! If you're looking for a new shoe, and want something that offers proven grip for trials use, and a more stable platform, I would highly recommend the Grip street shoe above equivilant MTB shoes."
