New V2 protectors in silver colour!

Designed and hand made in the UK by custom fabrication specialist Josh Leech!

  • Designed and hand made in the UK!
  • Must-have accessory for Clean Carbon K1.2 riders!
  • Only compatible with Clean K1.2 Carbon frames.
- Custom made drop out protectors, cold pressed from 1.8mm aluminium sheet to protect the vulnerable rear drop-outs on Clean K1.2 carbon frames!
- Designed and hand made by UK rider and professional fabricator Josh Leech! After his Clean Carbon K1.2 26" took a few hits on the rear drop-outs, Josh designed this neat solution that's easy to fit and protects this vulnerable part of the frame from damage, especially when attempting side hops.
- Compatible with Clean K1.2 carbon frames only. Will not fit older, vertical dropout out K1 frames or frames from any other brand.
- Now supplied in 'raw' aluminium.
- Supplied as a kit, including left and right drop out protectors and bolts / nuts for fitting.
- Snug, conforming fit ensures the protectors stay in place when impacted, preventing damage to the frame.
- Does not obstruct the wheel axle, allowing for easy wheel removal!
- Available in 26" version for rear HS frames and 20" version for rear disc frames.

- Weight (including fitting screws):

26" HS kit - 15.8g
20" rear disc kit - 15.6g

Additional Information

These kits are a tight fit! They are designed this way to avoid movement if impacted. They may mark the frame slightly when fitted. To fit, follow the instructions below:

1 - Remove the wheel from the frame.
2 - Slide the drop-out protector into place with the hole tab on the outside of the drop-out. For the 20" version, the protector with the cut-out is fitted to the disc side of the frame.
3 - Using some cardboard over the protector, give it a gentle tap with a hammer to seat it into place. The hole on the outer tab should line up with the retaining screw for the drop-out.
4 - Remove the existing drop out screw and replace with the countersunk screw provided. It should go through the hole on the protector tab. Tighten to 1Nm.
5 - Fit the washer and nyloc nut provided. Tighten to 1Nm.
6 - Repeat for the opposite side.
7 - Re-fit the wheel. You will need to gently pull the drop-outs apart to do this. There is plenty of flex in the rear triangle of the frame to allow this. For 20" disc frames, install the disc protector if needed and ensure it lines up with the cut-out on the disc side drop-out protector before installing the wheel axle.
8 - Once the rear wheel is installed, ensure it spins freely without touching the newly fitting protectors and that the disc protector on 20" frames is sitting in the cut out of the disc side drop-out protector.

If you need any help or advice on fitting the protectors, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help!
