Questions

Lachlan

Is it possible that a misshaped diaghram could have caused the oil in my lever to leak?

Hi Lachlan - Typically, if there was an issue with the diaphragm then this would show itself straight away. If you've crashed and it's leaked afterwards then that might not be the cause, although if the fluid is coming out from the top of the reservoir cap area then it could be the issue. Thanks, Mark

Hey is there a video that could help me to disassemble the lever

Hi Lachlan - There isn't a disassembly video as far as we're aware, sorry. There's a little circlip and grub screw that hold the lever pivot pin in place, and then there's a small Torx bolt that holds a stop plate in place that prevent the piston from coming out - those are the only bits that would really affect removing the lever blade/piston assembly. If you'd like to e-mail us (tartybikes@gmail.com) some photos of your brake lever to show us the damage we can try and advise you further. Thanks, Mark

Hi Lachlan - As mentioned in my previous replies, your best bet is to strip the lever down to see what's wrong with it. Typically the pistons don't break, but you may have damaged the seal possibly. Your best bet is to take the lever apart to better identify the cause of the leak, then buy the specific parts you need. Hope have some great exploded diagrams on their website of the Tech 3 lever that should assist you with this! Thanks, Mark
