Hi Justin - These bolts should work fine for bottle holders. Thanks, Mark

Scott

Can these be used on my stem? Or would I need longer ones? Thanks!

Reply from TartyBikes on 09/09/2013

Hi Scott - most stems with an M5 thread would require an 18mm bolt, though we advise not using these bolts in a stem. Both the steerer and handlebar clamp require being tighter than these bolts can comfortably offer, and so often end up not clamping tight enough or snapping. Thanks, Flipp.

James

Hi guys, do these bolt fit hope pro 2 hubs? And asking a question for another product what bolt would I need to fit my bbb stem? The four for the faceplate and two for the steerer tube part? Thanks James

Hi James - thanks for your question. By that, I'm assuming you mean for use with rotor bolts. If that is correct, then no - these would be too long to use as rotor bolts, which are M5 x 10mm. We also strongly advise against using aluminium bolts for rotor bolts as they are not as strong as steel or titanium alternatives, so could easily shear off under the very high sideways-loads that rotors place on their bolts. As for the stem - for the steerer clamp you would need M5 x 18mm and M5 x 16mm for the handlebar clamp, though we advise not using alloy bolts in the handlebar clamp for the same reasons as rotor bolts. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Hi Nick - thanks for your question. Yes - these will fit your brake perfectly. Thanks, Flipp.

Dan

Hello, I was wondering do these bolts come with washers and can they be safely run at 5NM torque as that is the spec for my stem? Advice would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Dan

Hi Dan - We typically wouldn't recommend using these for a stem as there's a lot of force going through your stem, so it's a little risky using alloy bolts like this. For low stress areas like bar clamps and so on they're more than up to the job, but in terms of high load areas like your stem we'd suggest going with Ti bolts if you wanted to try and save weight. Thanks, Mark

Mitch Ho

Hey guys, is this bolt for the HS33 handlebar clamp, or the actual lever blade? Thanks

Hi Mitch - This is for the bar clamp, not the pivot bolt. Thanks, Mark

break!

Posted by Nicolas on 14/06/2012

Not sure what to say... I bought some and when it came to install them one just broke! Poor quality but good looking.

Reply from TartyBikes on 15/06/2012

Hi Nicolas - The Pro-Bolt bolts are some of the highest quality alloy bolts available. However, as with any alloy bolt, we recommend using a torque wrench when installing them so as to avoid over-tightening them. They're not as strong as a steel or titanium bolt, so you need to be more careful when installing them as well as use plenty of grease.
