This bike is supplied with a 6 month warranty covering manufacturing and materials defects. The warranty does not cover mistreatment or poor maintenance. Please ensure all the details on the warranty sheet supplied with the bike are adhered to. Certain circumstances (such as stripped threads or rounded crank arm tapers) only occur due to a lack of correct maintenance and all manufacturers are aware of these situations, so any claims due to incorrect maintenance procedures are much less likely to be successful.

We build this bike to a 100% complete state in our workshop before dispatch to ensure all items are manufactured correctly and nothing is missing, but we do have to remove some parts to ensure there is no damage during transit. You will need some basic tools (usually 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm allen keys and a 15mm spanner) for final assembly upon arrival. We have a video guide here to help, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance.

Please note that the specification on the bike may occasionally vary slightly from the photos and description. If this happens then the overall effect will be an upgrade and it will not affect the cosmetic appearance of the bike drastically.

Questions

Joe

what is required to put the bike together once it arrives at my home? does it come with any tools to put it together

Posted by Joe

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Joe!
Assembling the Hex Pro is fairly straight forward as long as you have a few of the common size metric allen keys.
When you receive the bike, you'll need to install the front and rear wheels, install the pedals and fit the stem (the bar and stem are bolted together as one unit already) to the fork and set the headset tension. All the more involved parts of the bike set up such as cutting the chain to the correct length, installing the crankset, fitting the brakes and so on are taken care of so it's just a couple of minutes work to get your bike to a rideable state out of the box.
No tools are supplied with the bike, but something like our own multi tool will have all the allen keys you'd need to build the bike up.
Hopefully this helps, but if you have any more questions please ask!

Mark sinclair

Hi there just wondering what's the rear axle on the hex and can u modify it to take a thicker axle?

Posted by Mark sinclair

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Mark!
The Hex uses a 10mm rear axle. It's not possible to modify it to take a thicker axle.
The standard Pro build uses a 10mm hub axle with M6 axle bolts to secure it in place, whereas the Hope Pro 4 Trials rear hub on the Team build uses a 17mm axle in the hub with M10 axle bolts. If you wanted a stronger rear axle you could switch to a Hope rear hub further down the line, although the standard hubs are nice and strong!
The majority of Inspired's bikes use 10mm rear dropouts and we don't have any reports of customers having problems with them in terms of strength so it shouldn't be an issue.

Thomas Williams

Hello, Please could you let me know the stack height of this frame (vertical distance BB to top of head tube) and how it compares to the Arcade. I'm 6'4" with long legs, and always struggle to get my bars to a comfortable height. Thanks in advance for any help!

Posted by Thomas Williams

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Thomas!
The Hex has 5mm more stack height than the Arcade, and with the Hex in general being slightly scaled up compared to Inspired's 24" bikes it would probably be the way to go.
That said, the reach difference from the Arcade to the Hex isn't huge, and with the Arcade having a steeper head angle it will theoretically also open up that reach the higher you make your bars. Realistically you could ride either, but I suspect the Hex would be the way to go.
The standard bars on the Hex Pro bike are relatively low, so you may wish to look into upgrading to the Inspired Arcade risers at some stage as they will add around 15-20mm to your bar height. If you're keen to make your bars as high as possible they 'd be a good addition.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Hi, i wanted a street trials bike for christmas, but i did't get one, so i have to buy it myself. what wheel size should i use? im 187cm tall.

Posted by Fredrik

Reply from TartyBikes

Hi Fredik!
At your height, the Arcade or Hex would probably be the most comfortable for you, but the Flow and Fourplay bikes would be fine for you too. To get an idea of sizing, Inspired have created this chart that will give you an idea.
If you'd prefer to keep to a tighter budget, the Flow or Flow Plus bikes will still be great to get into street trials on. If you can spend a little more then the Pro spec Arcade, Fourplay or Hex bikes would be great too! The Hex is a little more trials focused, the Arcade is a little more BMX/street-y focused (although is still capable of trials moves) with the Fourplay sitting a little more in the middle.
If you've got any more questions, feel free to ask.

Hi Iím 6.2 and weight 159 pounds also Iím new to riding trails I currently ride a menís pitch specialized and use it as a trials bike which is not easy but certainly fun Iím looking to get more technical but need a new bike I donít know much about trails but and was wondering if you guys could guide me through my first purchase.

Hi Joel!
It's great to hear you're interested in trials - we'll certainly do our best to help point you in the right direction.
If you're looking to do purely technical moves, a more competition-style bike like the Echo Pure would be worth a look. They'll make the comp-style moves a little easier, but the flip side is that they feel very alien compared to 'normal' bikes, and they aren't ideal for riding at skateparks, pump tracks or other locations like that.
If you're interested in riding a mix of obstacles, a street trials bike like our Inspired or Czar bikes would be a good place to start.
If you aren't totally set on a 26" bike we have a little more variety - for example, the Czar Ion or Inspired Flow Plus bikes are a little cheaper and are very popular with riders getting into the sport. The smaller wheels make them a little more agile, but without making them feel too small. 26" wheels will work a little better for trials-specific moves, but the 24" bikes can handle them fairly well too. At your height you would still fit our 24" range fine.
The Hex is Inspired's only 26" bike, and one of the only 26" street trials bikes we sell. If you're coming from a mountain bike background it will feel the most familiar to you, and it'll certainly be significantly more trials capable than your Specialized!
If you've got a certain budget in mind or have any more questions, feel free to e-mail us at tartybikes@gmail.com and we'll be happy to help give you some extra info or pointers.

Awesome bike!

Posted by Josh

This is my first street trials bike, having only really dabbled in cycle trials with a mod bike I bought last year. Coming from a moto trial- mtb background I should have gone 26Ē straight away! I love the new found freedom of being able to cycle to spots easily. It does back wheel stuff a lot easier than I was expecting. It feels smooth and planted on the back and in general. Upgraded to the trial zone hope brakes which I highly recommend. It didnít take me long to adjust to this bike which surprised me. The bad thing is I literally cannot ride my mod anymore. It feels far too twitchy As my balance has adjusted to this bike. The only thing I didnít like about this bike is the trial tech pedals.. Even with 5í10s on I found myself slipping off the pedals far too much. Swapped them for some nuke proofs and problem solved! Canít fault anything else! Tartybikes customer service is one of the best! 5/5

Wow! But slight irritations...

For TartyBike's ordering process, delivery, and follow-up to my delivery issue: Five Stars. I want to give the bike Five Stars but due to the tires and tubes I cannot. So Four + stars on the bike as a complete package. If I were to only rate the Inspired assembly, brakes, and drivetrain it would be Five Stars. Disclosure:. This is my first Trials Bike. At 5' 8" and 165# the bike is a great fit and the balance...I was able to track stand in about five minutes. I have never accomplished that on my enduro. Within the first hour I was able to hop onto (and off) low tabletops at the skate park. First issue was with the included Kenda tubes that cannot be filled with my floor pump. The valve-cores are too deep so my pumps cannot activate them. Pressure has to exceed 60 PSI (4bar) in the pump before any passes the valve. The tubes have been replaced with Bontraiger tubes and that issue has been resolved. On pavement the tires are fine but on Skate Park concrete they are dangerously low grip. The rear tire spins on acceleration attempts and they both slide on any cross-incline routes. Spring for some tires with more surface contact and softer rubber. I think for dirt/non-street use the included tires will be great. So in short if you want a great bike buy your Hex and change out the tires. Save the included ones for trails and street use.

Hi Myron - Thanks for the detailed review, we really appreciate your feedback! Regarding the tyres, when new they can be a little slippery as they'll have some release agent on them from the factory. This tends to wear off over time. It's worth noting that some skateparks will be more slippery than others too - I've ridden various concrete parks with my Inspired and they can go from being nice and grippy to like riding on ice! Hopefully you'll like your new tyres though. I'm sorry to hear about your problems with the valves on the supplied tubes - this isn't something we've heard of or experienced ourselves before. I hope you continue to enjoy your Hex none-the-less! Thanks again for your review.
