This bike is supplied with a 6 month warranty covering manufacturing and materials defects. The warranty does not cover mistreatment or poor maintenance. Please ensure all the details on the warranty sheet supplied with the bike are adhered to. Certain circumstances (such as stripped threads or rounded crank arm tapers) only occur due to a lack of correct maintenance and all manufacturers are aware of these situations, so any claims due to incorrect maintenance procedures are much less likely to be successful.

We build this bike to a 100% complete state in our workshop before dispatch to ensure all items are manufactured correctly and nothing is missing, but we do have to remove some parts to ensure there is no damage during transit. You will need some basic tools (usually 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm allen keys and a 15mm spanner) for final assembly upon arrival. We have a video guide here to help, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance.

Please note that the specification on the bike may occasionally vary slightly from the photos and description. If this happens then the overall effect will be an upgrade and it will not affect the cosmetic appearance of the bike drastically.

Questions

Shane

How suitable would this bike be for a 6'3 110kg beginner Or could you point be in the right direction of best option with no budget? Cheers

Reply from TartyBikes on 11/03/2016

Hi Shane - It would be entirely suitable. The bike is large enough for your height and very strong. If you're after a bike of this style (short wheelbase, with a seat, etc.) I don't think you can beat it! Many thanks, Adam

Jack Butler

You say the reach is 680mm, but this cant be right. Reach is typically measured as a vertical line up from the BB, intersecting a horizontal line extending from the center of the head tube. If this were truly 680mm, that would mean that the top tube is well over 26 inches. What is the reach, as typically measured by bike manufacturers?

Posted by Jack Butler on 22/11/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 22/11/2017

Hi Jack - As the description states, we measure our reach from the centre of the BB shell to the centre top of the head tube. We do this as the unusual geometry of most trials frames means that the 'conventional' method of measuring frames doesn't really make as much sense. Unfortunately, as these bikes are out of stock we aren't able to get that measurement for you, sorry. Thanks, Mark

Frank Hutton

When you purchase the hope brake upgrade, which model are they? Are the the quad piston or dual piston ones? Also does that mean they have hope rotors? And are there color options? Sorry for so many questions

Posted by Frank Hutton on 25/12/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 26/12/2017

Hi Frank - The specific brakes included are mentioned further down the spec list, but for the Hope brakes they'd be the Hope Tech 3 Trial Zone brakes (you can view these on our website by searching for product code 13041), with 180mm Trial Zone V2 rotors. The brakes are only available in the standard black/silver colourway. Thanks, Mark

Ben

Hi guys, do you sell the new hex as a frame kit too? Best regards, Ben

Posted by Ben on 26/01/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 29/01/2018

Hi Ben - The frame kit isn't available separately yet so unfortunately not, sorry. We hope they'll be available a little later in the year. Thanks, Mark

Joshua

Is it comfortable to ride 5-10 km on road?

Posted by Joshua on 29/01/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 29/01/2018

Hi Joshua - I've ridden longer distances than that on my 24" Inspired Arcade, so with the Hex having slightly larger wheels it should be absolutely fine. Thanks, Mark

Scott McLerran

Hi, I'm wondering what else has changed with the geometry on this bike other than chainstay length and slightly steeper head angle? You are showing that the reach is 15mm longer but the wheelbase 17mm shorter than the previous model. Is the wheelbase correct for sure or am I missing something? I'm only looking at these details because I am 6'2", looking for a new frame but don't want something that feels too short. Thanks!

Posted by Scott McLerran on 07/03/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 07/03/2018

Hi Scott - A few features can distort the reach measurement, in much the same way they can the wheelbase too. For example, the new Hex features a longer head tube which is also positioned a little higher on the frame relative to the old Hex frame (to accommodate the tapered head tube setup, the axle to crown measurement on the fork is a touch longer which means the frame has had to be tweaked to keep everything else where it should be). This 'grows' the reach of the bike as the top measuring point is further away from the BB. At the same time, the offset of the fork is reduced quite a lot from the previous generation Hex forks so the wheelbase becomes much shorter, especially when you factor in the steeper head angle. In terms of the feel of the bike though, I'm around the same height as you and having ridden Ali's Hex they feel like a nice compromise between being long enough to help out with trials moves, but also short enough to be a bit more nimble and agile than the older Hex. It felt roomier than the 24" Inspired bikes I've ridden, and the effects of the larger wheel size add to that too in terms of the ride characteristics. Thanks, Mark

Jamie

If I order this when would I get it

Posted by Jamie on 04/04/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 05/04/2018

Hi Jamie - It takes 2-3 working days to build the bike in our workshop, then delivery time would depend on the country you're in and the delivery option you choose. If you click 'Add to Basket' then the 'View Basket' button, our website will calculate delivery options - and their associated delivery times - for you and display them. Thanks, Mark

Benni

I need some spare spokes for this bike. What lenghts and type do I need exactly. I want to get black ones.

Posted by Benni on 29/04/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/04/2018

Hi Benni - If you're looking to order the spokes from us, simply add a set of Black 26" Spokes to your basket, then in the 'Notes' section at checkout let us know what bike they're for. We can split the spoke lengths between the different sizes you'd need for each wheel. Thanks, Mark

Benni

Do you have suitable chain tensioners for this bike?

Posted by Benni on 29/04/2018

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/04/2018

Hi Benni - You would need to use the Trialtech Sport Tensioner Lower Half for this bike (Product code: 12662). These are out of stock at the moment - Trialtech expect them to be back in stock in June. Thanks, Mark

Wow! But slight irritations...

Posted by IdahoMyron on 12/02/2018

For TartyBike's ordering process, delivery, and follow-up to my delivery issue: Five Stars. I want to give the bike Five Stars but due to the tires and tubes I cannot. So Four + stars on the bike as a complete package. If I were to only rate the Inspired assembly, brakes, and drivetrain it would be Five Stars. Disclosure:. This is my first Trials Bike. At 5' 8" and 165# the bike is a great fit and the balance...I was able to track stand in about five minutes. I have never accomplished that on my enduro. Within the first hour I was able to hop onto (and off) low tabletops at the skate park. First issue was with the included Kenda tubes that cannot be filled with my floor pump. The valve-cores are too deep so my pumps cannot activate them. Pressure has to exceed 60 PSI (4bar) in the pump before any passes the valve. The tubes have been replaced with Bontraiger tubes and that issue has been resolved. On pavement the tires are fine but on Skate Park concrete they are dangerously low grip. The rear tire spins on acceleration attempts and they both slide on any cross-incline routes. Spring for some tires with more surface contact and softer rubber. I think for dirt/non-street use the included tires will be great. So in short if you want a great bike buy your Hex and change out the tires. Save the included ones for trails and street use.

Hi Myron - Thanks for the detailed review, we really appreciate your feedback! Regarding the tyres, when new they can be a little slippery as they'll have some release agent on them from the factory. This tends to wear off over time. It's worth noting that some skateparks will be more slippery than others too - I've ridden various concrete parks with my Inspired and they can go from being nice and grippy to like riding on ice! Hopefully you'll like your new tyres though. I'm sorry to hear about your problems with the valves on the supplied tubes - this isn't something we've heard of or experienced ourselves before. I hope you continue to enjoy your Hex none-the-less! Thanks again for your review.

Awesome bike!

Posted by Josh on 05/05/2018

This is my first street trials bike, having only really dabbled in cycle trials with a mod bike I bought last year. Coming from a moto trial- mtb background I should have gone 26Ē straight away! I love the new found freedom of being able to cycle to spots easily. It does back wheel stuff a lot easier than I was expecting. It feels smooth and planted on the back and in general. Upgraded to the trial zone hope brakes which I highly recommend. It didnít take me long to adjust to this bike which surprised me. The bad thing is I literally cannot ride my mod anymore. It feels far too twitchy As my balance has adjusted to this bike. The only thing I didnít like about this bike is the trial tech pedals.. Even with 5í10s on I found myself slipping off the pedals far too much. Swapped them for some nuke proofs and problem solved! Canít fault anything else! Tartybikes customer service is one of the best! 5/5
