Sold out

  • Available in 970mm or 1010mm lengths.
  • Disc or HS33 mounts!

- New from popular brand Jitsie, the Varial 20" Frame!
- Tested extensively by Jitsie's team riders, including our very own Adam Morewood.
- 970mm wheelbase version is recommended more for younger riders, with the 1010mm version being more suitable for adult riders.
- Constructed from 6061-T6 aluminium to give a great blend of strength and low weight.
- Minimalist design looks great and helps keep weight down.
- Gussets on the top and down tube help reinforce the crucial head tube join, ensuring good stiffness and durability.
- 120mm long externally machined head tube requires an Internal headset.
- Down tube profile changes along it's length, allowing the greatest possible weld contact at both the head tube and BB shell.
- 4-bolt bashplate design (compatible with Jitsie Mini Bashplate, as well as the Bonz HYD Pro Light Bashplate and the Clean Light Bashplate) attaches directly to the 68mm wide BB shell, meaning no stress riser on the down tube caused by the forward mounting bolt for a traditional 3-bolt bashplate.
- CNC-machined dropouts are spaced at 116mm, suitable for use with snail cams (snail cam bolts provided with the frame).
- Tough anodised black finish looks great, especially when teamed up with striking Jitsie Varial water transfer graphics.
- CNC-machined post mount disc brake mount is heavily reinforced to stand up to the stresses and strains of trials use.
- 4-bolt mounts spaced at 99mm feature an integrated brake booster to improve brake stiffness and frame longevity.
- Supplied with Jitsie branded silicone seat tube bung to cover up the seat tube hole (allowing the use of the Jitsie seat and post - more information soon).
- Available in either 970mm or 1010mm lengths, in a choice of 4-Bolt Only or Disc Only brake options.
- Weight - 1010mm Disc Only: 1.523kg. 1010mm 4-Bolt Only: 1.517kg.

Hi Is the quoted weight including or excluding the bash plate?

Hi Jack - As the frame is supplied without a bash plate we've stated the weight without including one, so you can add the weight of whichever one you'd prefer (the weights are listed on their own individual product pages). Thanks, Mark

brogan bursill

hi, can you suggest a bottom bracket for this frame?

Hi Brogan - That'll depend on the cranks you're hoping to use with it, but generally speaking the Jitsie, RockMan or Trialtech ISIS BBs are nice and strong without being overly heavy. They're also all a similar length so you shouldn't have clearance issues. Thanks, Mark

Would The monty internal sealed fit with this frame?

Hi Oscar - The Monty headset should fit the Varial frame fine. Thanks, Mark

Joona Ollila

Hi Im about 5 f 6" and just starting out riding trials. Would this be a good beginner bike for a mod thats going to be riden a lot on the street and skatepark, spins etc. The shorter wheelbase option, would it be any good?

Hi Joona!
The Jitsie Varial frames are nice and solid, and have tried-and-tested geometry so they're a good option for anyone, beginner or advanced! They're fairly simple in terms of their design so there's very little to go wrong on them.
The only thing to note is that they're not great for riding in skateparks. The geometry isn't particularly well suited to spins, jumping and other BMX moves. The bottom bracket height is quite high on this style of frame, and that in turn means your body weight is biased a lot over the front of the bike. This is good for trials moves, but not great for street style moves. They aren't impossible, as riders like Vasek Kolar (you can see some of his riding on his Instagram account) show, but if you're used to riding a BMX or mountain bike it will feel quite alien to ride.
If you're 5ft 6in, you're very much towards the top end of what Jitsie recommend the 970mm frame for. This will be beneficial for some street moves as you'll be quite big for the bike so you'll be able to move it around a little more easily, but for trials moves it might be restrictive. It is possible to dial this in by changing stem length though.
The Alias 20.1 frame would be perfect for what you're looking for, but unfortunately we're out of stock of them and Alias have no expected re-stocking date.
Hopefully this has helped - if you have more questions, feel free to ask!

I want to know diameter of seat post adaptable thanks.

Hi Kunio - The seat tube starts at 25.7mm inner diameter at the top, then decreases in diameter to nearer 24mm further inside the seat tube. Thanks, Mark

I am ~1.63m tall. Would the 970 be too short? My last frame was 1000.

Hi Jeffrey - The 970mm frame is designed more for riders under 1.5m tall, so the 1010mm would be the one you'd need to go for. Thanks, Mark
