Site Security
At TartyBikes, we take card security very seriously and this is why we have taken a number of steps to make sure your details will always be secure when ordering from us.
What measures do we have in place to ensure secure online debit and credit card processing?
When you order from us, your credit or debit card details are only collected for the purpose of processing payment. None of the details are stored within our database or sessions on our server and are fully encrypted and transmitted securely.
To do this, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Security. This encrypts data making it virtually impossible to view by anyone not at your PC. More information about SSL Security can be found here.
When SSL is active, a padlock symbol should usually appear within the top or bottom of your web browser to inform you that your data is being encrypted.
SSL works with Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, AOL and other browsers. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send us. When your order is processed, your encrypted credit card number is removed from the web server, meaning that there is no way someone can obtain your credit card number (we don't even see it ourselves).
For international transactions we use PayPal. These payments also use SSL Security and are regulated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority).
Our website is also scanned every quarter by Security Metrics to ensure it meets PCI-DSS compliance regulations for security. This is the industry standard for all websites that handle card information and consists of a wide range of thorough security checks on both our website and web server to ensure we meet the required security standards for processing card transactions.
How secure is this facility?
128 bit SSL encryption is used to process card transactions throughout the world, and is the industry standard for online payments.
