At TartyBikes, we take card security very seriously and this is why we have taken a number of steps to make sure your details will always be secure when ordering from us.

What measures do we have in place to ensure secure online debit and credit card processing?

We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Security to protect all sensitive data on our website. This encrypts data making it virtually impossible to view by anyone not at your PC. More information about SSL Security can be found here.

The transfer between our website and HSBC's is governed by 128bit SSL3 Security. This is usually noted by a padlock symbol appearing somewhere on your browser as soon as sensitive data is required.

HSBC's website is also encrypted by 128bit SSL Security to ensure online transcations are seamless and fully secure.

SSL works with Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, AOL and other browsers. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send us. When your order is processed, your encrypted credit card number is removed from the web server, meaning that there is no way someone can obtain your credit card number from HSBC or ourselves (we don't even see it ourselves).

For international transactions we use Google Checkout or PayPal. These also use SSL Security and are regulated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority).

When you order from us no data, personal or otherwise, is passed to any third party and it is only ever used to complete your transaction with us.

How secure is this facility?

128 bit SSL encryption is used to process card transactions throughout the world and HSBC won the Credit Card Awards 2007 and 2009 for Best Security/Anti-Fraud Development.

Google Checkout also uses SSL Security and is regulated by the FSA.
