- To fit: simply undo your existing shroud nut, chop off the olive, tap a barbed fitting (not supplied) into your main hose and bleed your brake... Job done!
- Can be used as a left or right hand unit.
- Available in black with either an orange or red TPA adjuster knob.
- Weight: 77g.

Additional Information

These levers come with a 6 month warranty covering manufacturing defects and materials, which also covers the sealing of the brake. Please note that using water to bleed the brake will invalidate the warranty.

Very Important Information

In order for correct operation of the brake, you must ensure that the lip seal of the piston is inside the piston bore at all times. This is pre-set by us before dispatch. Failure to do this invalidates the leak warranty on the lever.

Is this a 2 finger blade ?? And what colours are they ? thanks

Hi Ashley - The TR lever is long enough to use with 2 fingers if you wanted to, but works well with a single finger. It is also fairly long so you should get good leverage too. This lever is only available in black (the colour shown). Thanks, Mark

The seal on the lever is leaking. Can I replace just the seal or do I need a whole new lever?

Hi Zakk - Hopefully, just replacing the O-ring on the piston should solve that problem for you. It'd be worth checking that the inside of the lever body isn't damaged in some way when you're stripping your brake down though! Thanks, Mark

It appears that the master cylinder is capable of running two brake lines out. Is the bleed port the same thread size and pitch of the hose port? I would like to run front and back brake off of the same lever. Thank you.

Hi Robert - unfortunately this doesn't work very well at all. The brake has been designed so that the master cylinder moves a pair of slave cylinders enough to be used as a brake. If you double the number of cylinders, you have to displace twice the amount of fluid, which means that the slave cylinders will only move half as much. If you managed to get them set up in such a manner that they move enough, the lever will feel very spongy. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Hi there i am just wondering if this is compatible with the 2004 magura hs33 as a replacement/alternative lever

Hi Dave - yes, that will work perfectly. Thanks, Flipp.

What size is the replacement O Ring for the Piston on this lever and do you have them in stock, thanks

Hi Patrick!
That will depend on how old your brake lever is. More recent Echo brakes feature a smaller piston diameter than these levers, so you may need to take the piston out and measure it. If it's a 14mm piston then our Magura/Echo O-Rings will fit fine. If it's a smaller size then we may not have any that will fit, sorry.
Feel free to e-mail us if you require any help with this!

What size is the fitting that comes with this brake lever, as I have braided hoses and would need to find a new fitting in place of the M8 fitting.

Hi Scott - The Echo brakes use M6 fittings throughout. Thanks, Mark

Buy a real Magura lever

Posted by Paul on 22/09/2011

Leaks fluid through the bleed nipple threads, temp fixed with ptfe tape on the nipple threads. Seems to require pads to be set closer to the rim than a standard Magura lever to achieve the same feel. Lever blade is very comfy just a shame it won't fit onto a Magura lever body. I wouldn't recommend this lever to anyone especially at over £50. AVOID

Reply from TartyBikes on 23/09/2011

Hi Paul - Sorry to hear you're not happy with your lever! We've heard of a small amount of these brakes leaking from the bleed port - by using a cap head bolt (like the Magura with a Hope-style crush washer) or torquing the bleed screw to the correct 6Nm it's possible to stop that particular leak if you're having issues with it. Regarding the 'feel' of the lever, if you're used to using a 2-finger lever blade on a Magura then the TR will feel different as it's got a longer lever blade, and consequently has a little more power, and less brake pad travel. Because of that the brake will usually need to be set up a little differently. It's similar to the way that going from a 2-finger lever blade on a Magura to a 4-finger blade will require a change in your setup.

This lever is the best I have bought!

Posted by Smai on 16/04/2012

If you buy this lever just add some teflon and tighten the bleed screw. You will like this great brake!!!! :)

Reply from TartyBikes on 16/04/2012

Hello - I'm glad you like your lever! You may not necessarily need to use any Teflon tape on your lever, although it does help create a better seal. Thanks for the review.

Excellent lever

When used with magura slaves it is incredible. Owned for over a year and still perfect. Bled with water too. Could not be happier.

Hi Ash - It's good to hear the lever's working well for you! Thank for the detailed review.

5 time fail

Posted by Rob on 20/01/2013

Ive had 5 of these levers and all leak. Changed o-rings. Same thing. Only one that doesnt leak too badly is one that i replaced the whole plunger and o-ring out of an old maggi lever i had cracked. Lever comfortable lever and easy to adjust on the fly... Unfortunatly the quality has just not been there for me.

Reply from TartyBikes on 21/01/2013

Hi Rob - Sorry to hear you've had so many problems with these levers. Quite a few riders seem to use them with no issues, so to have issues with 5 is very unfortunate! Apologies again for this.
