Our TartyBikes weekend event is back for 2018! After some successful and enjoyable family-orientated events in previous years, we've decided to revise the format this time to give a more relaxed and informal atmosphere. We're currently in talks with a number of top UK riders who are hoping to attend - stay tuned for more details.

Check out the video below from a previous similar event if you'd like to get an idea of what the weekend will be like:

More videos from previous events can be seen by clicking here.

Key Information:

The Radical Bikes purpose built Trials Park, which has a huge array of obstacles and is regularly being updated and moved around so you are sure to have some fresh setups to ride over the weekend.

The event will be held over the whole weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June. If you wish to stay over on the Friday evening that's no problem, but please note that we recommend arriving fairly late on as Barrow Farm will not be open for riding on the Friday.

How much?
A rider weekend ticket is 25 and covers one rider. We also have a cheaper ticket for young riders up to and including the age of 10 years old. The ticket also includes camping, showers, toilets and parking on site. Caravans and motorhomes are welcome, but please note hook-up is not available and we'd appreciate if generators can be turned off at a reasonable hour in the evenings.

Rider Ticket:
- This allows entry for one rider and his / her bike to the event, including camping and use of the facilities.

Rider Ticket (10 years old and under):
- This allows entry for one young rider up to and including the age of 10 years old, including his / her bike to the event. Also includes camping and use of the facilities. Please note any riders who purchase this ticket MUST attend the event with an adult who will require a spectator or rider ticket.

Spectator Ticket:
- This allows entry for one spectator to the event and covers camping and use of the facilities.

Please note that is is NOT possible to turn up on the day and purchase a ticket. All riders and spectators must pre-purchase their tickets.

Only weekend tickets are available, there are no single day tickets.

Can I buy parts while I am there?
Yes! We will have our very own TartyBikes stand there and will be selling a selection of parts and accessories. This year we will also have the ability to process card payments and will also be offering a 'click and collect' service in the week running up to the event.

What's happening over the weekend?
The main idea is to get everyone together for a weekend of riding-based fun, but some of our suppliers will also have stands showing off the latest products on the market. We are going to be joined by Inspired, Trialtech and hopefully a few other companies who we are currently in discussions with.

The Eliminator!
It's back! On the Sunday, we will run the Eliminator Trial which proved hugely popular at previous events. If you've not seen it before it's essentially one long section that starts off simple and easy (even parents can try it!) and then gradually gets harder and harder as you progress through it. It's great fun to watch and everyone can attempt it!

Tarty Hoopla
A bike themed game of Hoopla! Included in your ticket is a chance to win a prize and test your throwing skills!

Other riding-based activities will include a hop bar (or limbo bar!) for you to have a go at, plus some game of 'B.I.K.E' cards to challenge your mates with.

We will also have various games (such as giant Jenga, swingball, etc) available all weekend and run a BBQ on Saturday evening where you can cook your own food.

How do I get there?
Radical Bikes Trials Park is located just off Blackmore Road in Chelmsford, Essex. For Sat Nav directions, use the postcode CM1 3QR. Please see the map below for exact the location. Unfortunately Google street view is not up to date enough for you to be able find the Trials park on there, but once you are on Blackmore Road the Trials obstacles are clearly visible now.

If you are traveling by train, the closest station is located in Ingatestone, which is 4.9 miles away. Please click here here for directions from Ingatestone Train Station to the event.

The closest Airport is London Stansted, which is based approximately 25 miles north of the event.

Where can I get supplies?
There will be hot and cold refreshments available on site both days plus 'street food' catering, but we have listed various shops below that may be of use over the weekend:

Co-op Supermarket - 1.8 miles away, postcode CM4 0RU
Budgens shop - 4.3 miles away, postcode CM4 9DW

Halfords - 7.7 miles away, postcode CM2 6XE

Takeaway - Farm Pizza. Tel. 01245 280800 or 07746 534575, postcode CM1 1HY.

Petrol - 3.5 miles away, postcode CM4 0LQ

Further details and exact timings will be released nearer the event. Please do not purchase tickets and parts on the same order. Your ticket is your email confirmation of your order, so please bring your phone to sign on or a print out of the email confirmation. Please ensure your email is correct when placing your order.

Tickets are non-transferable.

Please note: All riders will be required to sign on (for insurance reasons) when arriving, and at this point will be given a wristband. Wristbands must be on your wrist at all times during the weekend while on site, this applies to both riders and spectators. Anyone not able to show their wristband on request may be asked to leave the venue. Spectators/Guardians must also wear their wristbands at all times. There is only limited space at Barrow Farm so we do have a limit on numbers for both riders and spectators. Helmets must be worn at all times by all riders.

Hi, I've two boys aged three and four who can cycle without stabilizers and are heavily into bikes, DVD's bike magazine, you name it. For this event would you suggest I purchase just spectator tickets for them?

Hi Helen - They would be able to find things to ride (for which they would need a rider ticket), but I'm sure they would enjoy it as a spectator too! Thanks, Flipp.

Hello, just a simple question. Is possible buy the spectator wristband when arrived on site? Thanks.

Hi: "Please note that is is NOT possible to turn up on the day and purchase a wristband. All riders and spectators must pre-purchase their tickets." Sorry! Thanks, Adam

Hi, me and a friend are thinking about coming along. He's done trials when he was in his teens i've just started at the age of 27,would we find it suitable for us? We would be travelling up from the Isle of Wight is there room for a small motorhome for overnight saturday?

Hi Greg - thanks for your question. Yes, you would find this event absolutely suitable for you - the event has something for everyone. There are people of every riding ability from current world champions, right down to kids on strider bikes! The riding facility has objects of all difficulties to facilitate this, and people of all abilities and experience had a great time last year. There is also plenty of room for staying overnight, so a small motorhome would be no problem. Thanks again, Flipp.

dan chandler

Hello chaps. Are you posting the wrist bands out for this event, or is it a sign up on the day job. I'm just wondering as I've not received confirmation that I have a ticket, only that the payment has gone through. Dan

Hi Dan - as the product description states, wristbands will be sent out to customers in early June. Thanks, Flipp.

Hi Jack - thanks for your question. It's great to hear that you're interested in coming along! There is a section under the title "How do I get there?" with all those details about half-way down the product description, including a Google Maps link. I hope that helps, and to see you there! Thanks, Flipp.

Hi Steven - thanks for your question. As you might imagine, he's an incredibly busy guy so we can't be 100% certain either way until closer to the time, but at this moment it looks as if he will not be able to make it to Tarty Days. Thanks, Flipp.

Ross Burnside

Hi there, I was wondering if there was a certain age you had to be to get in without an adult? For example - I'm 15 and still will be when i Tartydays comes around. I will be traveling with a few friends, but as I am under 16, will i need an adult to come with me? Cheers :D

Reply from TartyBikes on 24/02/2015

Hi Ross - thanks for your question. We've just spoken with the owners of Barrow Farm and the minimum age to attend unaccompanied is 14, so you would be fine to come down without your parents. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Jack heard

Hi I'm wanting to come to tarty days this year but don't fully understand the family ticket. Me and my friend are coming to ride and we are both under 16 and my 2 parents and sister are coming as spectators. Does the family ticket cover this? Cheers

Posted by Jack heard on 22/02/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 23/02/2015

Hi Jack - thanks for your question. The Family Ticket is just that - a ticket for families! It would not be suitable for you and your friend since you are not a family. Thanks, Flipp.

Is it possible to camp at radical bikes on the Friday, Saturday + Sunday? As I have a 6hour drive up from East yorkshire. Thanks

Posted by Jack heard on 04/03/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 05/03/2015

Hi Jack - that should be no problem. If you are hoping to ride Barrow Farm on the Monday too you will need to pay for one standard day of riding. Tarty Days includes riding on Saturday and Sunday only. Thanks, Flipp.

Will tartybikes except any sort of bike to ride in tarty weekender?

Posted by Rob on 12/05/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 12/05/2015

Hi Rob - thanks for your question. Any type of bike is fine, though obviously a trials bike is ideal! Thanks, Flipp.

Hi, we are a couple with a 10 month old boy and we would like to assist as spectators...does the baby need a ticket as well? Thanks!

Posted by Richard on 17/05/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 18/05/2015

Hi Richard - thanks for your question, but no, a 10 month old baby would definitely not need a spectator ticket! Thanks, Flipp.

Scott Davis

I was wondering regarding parking and camping I know with other events at this venue they have asked us to park our cars in another field away from the tents, wondered if same rules will be applying this year as I know some of us are bringing camper vans and not tents.

Posted by Scott Davis on 06/06/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 07/06/2017

Hi - Normally we try and get everything in the same field, as long as people park / set up sensibly this will be possible! Cheers.

Darren Gilson

Hi, am i able to bring a small dog?

Posted by Darren Gilson on 10/03/2015

Hi Darren - thanks for your question. Yes, that will be no problem at all. Thanks, Flipp.
