Hi Daniel - yes, that would work just fine. Thanks, Flipp.

hi guys, I'm new to discs and don't know much about them but does it matter what rotor you have or what shape it is? Just so I can get a better understanding really, thanks :)

Hi Jordan - you can use any rotor (so long as it's the correct diameter) with any brake, though we find they perform the best if you match the width of the braking surface to the width of the pads. The different shapes offer slightly different performance, though as a loose rule of thumb: more holes in a rotor generates more bite, whereas more surface area in contact with the pads equates to more hold. This is not an absolute rule - the compound of the steel comes in to play too, amongst other things - it is just a trend to give you a rough idea. Hope that helps! Thanks, Flipp.

Hope Mono Trial Rotor

Posted by David on 01/12/2010

Good light rotor, light risk of corrosion and slight warping over time.

Reply from TartyBikes on 02/12/2010

Hi David, thanks for your review. Corrosion is normal since the rotors are steel (but never on the braking surface itself), and warping can happen if the rotor is hit (common in trials!) An adjustable spanner can be used to straighten the rotors out if required, alternatively they will self-straighten over time. Thanks again, Mark
