As riders ourselves, we know exactly how to improve standard build bikes to ensure the best possible enjoyment for the rider. Instead of cutting prices, we spend extra time setting the bikes up to a high standard (which takes almost an hour per bike).

Please ensure all the details on the warranty sheet supplied with the bike are adhered to. Certain circumstances (such as stripped threads or rounded crank arm tapers) only occur due to a lack of correct maintenance and all manufacturers are aware of these situations, so any claims due to incorrect maintenance procedures are much less likely to be successful.

The specification of this bike is fixed and cannot be changed.

We build this bike to a 100% complete state in our workshop before dispatch to ensure all items are manufactured correctly and nothing is missing, but we do have to remove some parts to ensure there is no damage during transit. You will need some basic tools (usually 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm allen keys and a 15mm spanner) for final assembly upon arrival. We have a video guide here to help, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance.

I've really been wanting to get into street trials riding and have always found my way back to this bike... I was wondering if there were any versions of the frame available that are rear disc brake compatible?

Hi Coy - unfortunately there aren't. These bikes/frames are only available with a rear rim brake. Thanks, Flipp.

Hello, I've recently found out about rim grinding for better brake performance (which I think could help me being 190lbs) and was wondering if you specifically recommend to not grind these... Considering they don't look like any of the same designs as the videos I watched about grinding... Thanks in advance, -Coy

Hi Coy - thanks for your question. Grinding a rim can certainly help a brake's performance, especially when it's wet. It doesn't have to be raining - if the floor is damp, it WILL find it's way to your rim! The downside to grinding a rim is that you lose a lot of modulation. With a smooth rim you can scrub the brake if you want to slow down just a little bit, whereas with a grind the pad grips to the rim quite aggressively as soon as it touches. This means the brake is often quite "on/off" which is great for some people, but others don't like it. A very shallow grind will lessen this effect, whilst still offering a significant boost in performance. If you'd like more detail, feel free to give us a ring or send us an email! Thanks, Flipp.

Great Bike and Great Service!

Posted by Chris on 27/07/2014

First off, I am extremely happy with Tarty Bikes and will recommend you to friends. I received the bike back in the states quicker than expected and it was packaged extremely well. I did a lot of research and went with the 26' Hex to do a little urban assault while riding with my kids and help make me a more well rounded mountain biker. I keep watching Ali C and Danny videos to hone in on my skills, but have a long way to go... Excited about the bike and thanks again for the great service!
