RockMan Composite Bashplate

- Unique bashplate from Rockman!
- Constructed from a durable and flexible high-density composite to keep weight as low as possible.
- Material and design allows some degree of flex, absorbing much of the shock, rather than transferring it all to the frame as with metal bashplates. This lowers the stress exerted on the downtube mount, reducing the chance of cracking.
- Designed to fit the Rockman Flint due to a shorter bolt spacing, though may fit frames designed for use with the Echo Mini bashplate with modification to the rubber piece that sits between the bashplate and frame. Please enquire if unsure.
- Supplied without bashplate rubber, bolts or washers as these were supplied with the frame. Bashplates should not be used without a bashplate rubber.
- Please note that all bashplates are intended as protective devices and are not to be used in mounting obstacles. This is especially true in this case, given its plastic construction.
- Available in black only.
- Sold singly.
- Weight: just 36.6g!

Additional Information

This item is designed to protect the chain from knocks and is not intended for use in mounting obstacles. Abuse of the bashplate will void the warranty.
Designed to fit the Rockman Flint, though may also fit frames that use the Echo Mini bashplate with some modification. Please enquire if unsure.

Questions

Luke

Hi would this fit my blue 20" gu and if so what modifications would I need to do if I'd need too?

Hi Luke - thanks for your question. The bashplate is a slightly different size and will not fit directly onto the GU frame as it comes, though if you trimmed down the bash-plate rubber a little and pressed the plate closer to the frame, it will elongate just enough to allow you to fit it. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Matt Clark

will this fit my onza comp? and can you recommend a rubber that would fit well with this bash to my frame? thanks Matt

Hi Matt - The only bashplates we stock that will fit the Comp are the Monty Eagle Claw Bashplate and the Monty M5. The Comp uses the horizontal mount style of bolts at the rear whereas most frames nowadays use the vertical mount style (where the bolts go upwards into a gap between the chainstays, rather than at an angle into a block hanging down from the stays). The Monty bashplate rubber should do the trick, although you'd need to trim the protruding part off it. This is easily done with a sharp knife - the rubber cuts very easily. Thanks, Mark

Nathan Nicolle

I have a rockman flint and might order a few of these bashplates, but I want to make sure that it comes with the rubber piece that goes under the bottom bracket to support the plate so it lasts longer. I have used this bash plate on my flint and it is useless without the rubber piece.

Hi Nathan - thanks for your question. As the product description states, these bashplates do not come with bolts, washers or the rubber piece you are referring to, as these were supplied with the frame. These should not be used without the rubber block. Thanks, Flipp.

Will this fit my 24 flow? Shane

Hello - This bashplate won't fit your Flow, sorry. It's not possible to fit a bashplate to any of Inspired's bikes - you'd need to use a 4-bolt bashring (such as the Inspired Flow Bashring - Product code: 13150). Thanks, Mark

I have found this product really useful as it has allowed me to feel safer about if i fall and it hits the bash plate i know this bash plate wont cause the type of shocks which a metal bash would which causes things like cracks and just generally feel better about riding knowing this. And its not bad price wise
