Questions

Calum Grant

hey will this fit on the onza ska and are they good because one of the comments said that they stripped easily cheers

Hi Calum - I don't think this really fits anywhere on the Ska, unfortunately. As with all aluminium bolts/nuts, it's important to be careful when fitting them. Aluminium is softer than steel or titanium, so more care must be taken to use grease when installing them and to make sure they're not over-tightened. Thanks, Mark

Looks good but 'rounds off' easily..

Posted by Cai on 15/01/2011

These look lush when fitted to the bike, but they really aren't up too the job in my opinion. I've had two of these and one of these rounded off very quickly, and the threads basically fell out of the other one. Stick to steel nuts!

Hi Cai - Sorry to hear you've had problems with them. Being quite small, we recommend using a good quality ring spanner on them, definitely not an adjustable. Aluminium does 'round off' more easily than steel, but with good tools this isn't a problem - in fact I've had a set of these on my bike with no problems since February 2007! For the application of holding a lever blade pivot pin in place they do not need much torque at all, especially with the nyloc system, so stripping the thread should not be an issue, especially with the threads greased as suggested in the product description. Thanks for your review!

Colourful updgrade

It's only an M5 nut, but a very colourful one at that. Made my old Hope brakes look a bit nicer anyway.
