Inspired Hex Frame Kit

Product code: 13076

On order

Inspired Hex Frame Kit

Discontinued. New model expected April 2019.

- New for 2017, the Inspired Hex Frame Kit - complete with both +20mm IS disc mount and 4-bolt rim brake mounts!
- Building on the success of the proven Inspired Hex frame, the frame kit features an updated version of the frame along with colour-matched Inspired Team fork and FSA Orbit Equipe sealed bearing headset.
- Butted 7005 aluminium tubing provides a good blend of strength to weight.
- Extensive testing with various riders including TRA world ensures the Hex offers a level of quality and performance that cannot be found in any other 26 street frame.
- Externally butted 1 1/8" headtube has tapered reinforcing rings, plus strength further improved by using external top and downtube gussets.
- One-piece 68mm wide bottom bracket and chainstay yoke offers excellent clearance for both the tyre and the chainring. Fits standard 1.37" x 24tpi threaded bottom brackets.
- The one-piece design also increases stiffness and strength at this important area while carefully designed pockets help reduce the weight.
- Custom seat and chainstay tubing help improve crank and heel clearance.
- Compact CNC machined dropouts and custom gear hanger keep the frame looking clean and stylish.
- Weld angles and contact areas at the dropouts have also been improved to help maximise strength.
- Dedicated 4-Bolt brake mounts spaced at 89mm, centre to centre across the mounts (maximum rim width approx 38mm, unless Tensile Offset Mounts are used).
- Thick +20mm positioned IS disc mount is supported by a large gusset that wraps around the seat stay.
- Supplied with a pre-installed FSA Orbit Equipe sealed bearing headset - a proven model found on the majority of Inspired's complete bikes!
- Inspired's forks are renowned for being some of the toughest forks on the market.
- Ultra thick one-piece CNC machined aluminium steerer tube (6mm wall thickness - 205mm length), this fork overcomes many issues previously seen when using a bonded 2 piece steerer.
- Steerer is extra thick at the bottom, more so than other forks which appear to be the same, ensuring maximum stiffness and strength.
- The steerer tube has a radius at the bottom to prevent cracking, therefore some models of crown race may not appear to seat fully. This is normal and does not cause any problems.
- Custom designed and manufactured disc brake mount (at the International Standard position) is extra long to prevent cracking at the top where it joins the leg.
- Super thick, large diameter fork legs provide additional strength.
- Unique, smooth welded and machined dropouts look classy and maximise durability without adding excessive weight.
- Advanced one piece top-cap/nut replaces the standard press-fit star fangled nut, top-cap and bolt featured on other forks.
- Disc mount only.
- Dropout size 9.5mm to fit all standard 9mm axles (Hope, Try-All, Shimano, Chris King, V!Z, Onza, etc.). Echo hubs use a 10mm axle and will need modification.
- Available in gloss blue with high quality graphics that are lacquered over.
- May not be supplied with hose clips.

- Frame, fork and headset: 3.168kg

How high could you possibly raise a seat post to do a catwalk on the Hex? I realize this isn't what these bikes are made for. I currently have a DJ frame with trials components. I mostly plan to do street trials on the Hex but since I've been doing catwalks for years it's part of my repitoire of tricks so I'd hate to give up that ability by not having a decent seat height. My seat height for catwalks from the BB is about 57cm. I drop it down of course when doing trials stuff. Again, my question is; what's the highest I could have the seat with the Inspired Hex while still being able to drop the seat out of the way for trials?

Hi David!
Unfortunately it wouldn't be possible to get the seat quite that high, sorry. We sell a longer Pivotal seat post here that should get you somewhere near, but it would still fall a little short.
From the BB to the top of the seat clamp on a Hex is approx. 225mm, and with the Gusset Long post only having 230mm of usable length you would be some way from the height you're looking for. That doesn't include the depth of a Pivotal seat, but it would need to be fairly deep to gain that extra height.
With that Pivotal post, you will still get quite a lot of post outside the frame even when it's as low as possible which might compromise the feel of the bike when you're doing more trials orientated moves.
Sorry we can't be more help!

Hi I am just wondering if the new inspired hex frame will come with the through front axel and will the 2018 frame cost the same price as the 2017 frame. Thanks.

Hi Luke!
The next generation Hex framekit will come with the same through axle/tapered forks as shown on the latest Hex bikes.
The price will be higher than the 2017 Frame Kit, but you are getting a better frame, fork and headset!

Hi Tharun - Unfortunately we don't have an ETA for the 2018 frame kits, sorry. We've been told they'll be available at some point this year, and we suspect it'll be later this summer. No price has been announced yet but we'd assume it would be around the same price as the Fourplay frame kit as the two models share quite a lot of features - it may be a touch higher, but that should give you an idea at least. Thanks, Mark

Hi Tarty Bikes, do you know when the new Hex frame will be in stock? Thanks in advance

Hi Tharun - There are no forks available that have a 20mm axle, sorry. The closest would be the Arcade forks with a 15mm through axle. Thanks, Mark
