This bike is supplied with a 6 month warranty covering manufacturing and materials defects. The warranty does not cover mistreatment or poor maintenance. Please ensure all the details on the warranty sheet supplied with the bike are adhered to. Certain circumstances (such as stripped threads or rounded crank arm tapers) only occur due to a lack of correct maintenance and all manufacturers are aware of these situations, so any claims due to incorrect maintenance procedures are much less likely to be successful.

We build this bike to a 100% complete state in our workshop before dispatch to ensure all items are manufactured correctly and nothing is missing, but we do have to remove some parts to ensure there is no damage during transit. You will need some basic tools (usually 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm allen keys and a 15mm spanner) for final assembly upon arrival. We have a video guide here to help, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance.

Please note that the specification on the bike may occasionally vary slightly from the photos and description. If this happens then the overall effect will be an upgrade and it will not affect the cosmetic appearance of the bike drastically.

Questions

connor

So is this basically a bmx?? Sure looks like one from here

Posted by connor on 07/11/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 07/11/2013

Hi Connor - The Flow is essentially a scaled down version of the 24" Inspired range. As a result, it features a trials/MTB-style bar and stem, a front disc brake, a rear V-Brake, lighter gearing and different geometry (amongst other things). The only real similarity with a BMX is the fact it uses 20" wheels, but that's a necessity to make it functional for smaller riders.

Andrew Stewart

Can you change the brakes to hydrolic disc brakes

Posted by Andrew Stewart on 11/11/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 12/11/2013

Hi Andrew - thanks for your question. You can change the front brake to a hydraulic disc, though the frame has no disc mount so a rear disc brake cannot be fitted. Thanks, Flipp.

Euan Richardson

Im 5"6, would the the inspired flow 20" be good for me?:)

Posted by Euan Richardson on 13/12/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 16/12/2013

Hi Euan - as they product description says, this bike is designed around smaller riders. The advised height range is from 1.20m/4ft to 1.50m/5ft, so you would be quite big for this bike. Thanks, Flipp.

alasdair hulatt

hi there i am 6 foot tall i am wondering wold this do me i have come from a bmx background and i am not fond of the over 20inc trials frams dew to the way thay are bilt it looks like thay are esey to snap dew to the stiyl of riding that i do thanks

Posted by alasdair hulatt on 17/12/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 18/12/2013

Hi Alasdair - thanks for your question. At 6', you would likely find this bike too small since it is aimed at smaller riders. It will feel smaller than a BMX as it has a lower bar height, meaning there is less room between the handlebars and your feet. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Kieran

Would this bike fit an average 12 year old

Posted by Kieran on 29/04/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/04/2014

Hi Kieran - thanks for your question. This bike would be just about suitable for a 12 year old, but with a growth spurt imminent and already being at about the tallest this bike is designed for, it might be worth looking into full sized bikes so that it isn't grown out of in the near future. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Owen Hughes

I am 5 2" but i am very light. Would this bike work for me and could i ship it to canada?

Posted by Owen Hughes on 01/06/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 02/06/2014

Hi Owen - thanks for your question. The height restriction is a height restriction, not a weight restriction implied by height. This bike is physically smaller than full sized bikes, so you would likely feel quite cramped on the bike, and this would only become more pronounced as you grow. At your height, you would be better off looking at full sized 20" bikes, or 24" bikes if you want an Inspired style bike. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

simon

could you fit 24'' tires on this?

Posted by simon on 02/02/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 02/02/2015

Hi Simon - thanks for your question. No - you cannot fit 24" tyres to this bike. It is tailored specifically to 20". Thanks, Flipp.

Jeppe

Hi! i am looking for a bike - as beginner.. im about 5'6"... and 13 years old, will this bike fit me? or shall i look for bigger? thanks for anwsers Regards Jeppe

Posted by Jeppe on 29/03/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/03/2015

Hi Jeppe - thanks for your question. This bike is designed for riders from approximately 1.20m/4ft to 1.50m/5ft, so you would be a bit big for it. Thanks, Flipp.

Jeppe

Hi again! its me who asked for the bike, if it fits.. i see it dont, what else bikes, can you reccomend? with a fair price between 0-1000£? Regards Jeppe

Posted by Jeppe on 30/03/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/03/2015

Hi Jeppe - thanks for your question. There are lots of great bikes in that price range, but since you asked about the 20" Flow I'm assuming you'd like something to ride in the kind of style. If that is correct then the best option for you would be the 24" Flow: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/24_inch_trials_bikes/inspired_flow_24_inch/c50p12496.html Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Auzzi

Hi i am bout 4foot11 and 12 years old!! I am wondering if this bike would work or would i have to get a 24". I have a friend that had a 24" and it was to big! So should i stick with a 20" ( im brand new to trail biking) so if you will let me know if this is a good learns bike for a beginner thanks!!!!!

Posted by Auzzi on 03/04/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 07/04/2015

Hi Auzzi - thanks for your question. The 24" may feel a little big for you, though from our experience, at your current height you will grow out of the 20" very quickly. Unfortunately you are just in between the "kids" size and the "full" size bikes, and no-one makes a bike between the two. The 20" will feel small, and will only feel smaller and more cramped as you grow, though the 24" will feel a bit big, though will feel better and better as you grow. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

luka grgic

hey i am from croatia and i would like to know if this bike will fit me i am 13-14 years old and i am 1m and 65 cm tall,or i should take the 24 bike,if you know the answer pleas let me know.

Posted by luka grgic on 15/10/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 15/10/2015

Hi Luka - If you're 1.65m tall then I think the Flow 24" bike would be a better fit for you. The Flow 20" bike is recommended for riders up to around 1.50m, so it might feel too small for you. Hope that helps! Thanks, Mark

James

Hi ,I'm 13 but I'm only 1.50cm should I buy this or should I get the Flow 24

Posted by James on 07/11/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 09/11/2015

Hi James - If you're 1.5m tall now I think the Flow 20" would be a good fit for you, although you may grow out of it. The Flow 24" bike would probably end up making you feel quite stretched out though as you'd be at the very low end of the height range for it. As the Flow 24" bike comes with a short stem as standard there's not too much you could do to alter the fit of the bike, whereas with the 20" if it started feeling a little small for you further down the line you could fit a slightly longer stem to compensate for your height. Sorry I can't be more help than that - you're at that tricky height where it becomes a bit of a grey area as to which is the 'right' bike. Thanks, Mark

Math

hi roughly how much would it be to change the brakes to hydraulic disk brake. Can I barspin and tailwhip on this bike ?

Posted by Math on 18/02/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 18/02/2016

Hello - Unfortunately, it's not possible to fit disc brakes to this bike, sorry. The only Flow bikes with disc mounts are the 24" and 26" bikes I'm afraid. Thanks, Mark

Jack

Does it have plastic pedals

Posted by Jack on 01/03/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 02/03/2016

Hi Jack - That's correct, the Flow uses nylon/plastic pedals. Thanks, Mark

Remo

Does the 2016 Gloss Black Inspired Flow has Disk-brakes?

Posted by Remo on 10/06/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 10/06/2016

Hello - The 20" version of this bike is rim brake only. Thanks, Mark

Harry

Hi, is it possible to put the front brake cable through the stem and the rear brake cable to be wrapped around the stem so that the bars will spin 360 degrees without tangling or snapping the brake cables. Thanks!!!

Posted by Harry on 21/06/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 21/06/2016

Hi Harry - If you purchase a Gusset Hollow Star Nut with the bike we could fit that for you, and that would allow you to route the front brake cable through the steerer tube absolutely fine. The rear cable is long enough as standard to allow you to do a barspin or tailwhip with no problems. Thanks, Mark

Josh

Hi. Could I fit the inspired flow 20 2016 I am 4f 6 tall and very light and i am from the bmxings and I am 12 would this be the bike for me

Posted by Josh on 01/07/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 04/07/2016

Hi Josh - You would fall into the middle of the size range for this bike so it should be perfect for you. Thanks, Mark

Josh

Hi would you be able to fit disc brakes hydraulies on the inspired flow 3016

Posted by Josh on 02/07/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 04/07/2016

Hi Josh - It's not possible to fit any type of disc brake to the Flow 20", sorry. Thanks, Mark

Logan bainbridge

Can this bike come with hydraulic discs fitted and the front cable through the headset tube

Posted by Logan bainbridge on 26/07/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 26/07/2016

Hi Logan - Unfortunately, it's not possible to fit disc brakes to the 20" Flow, sorry. The frame and fork are non-disc, as are the wheels. It is possible to route the front V-Brake Cable through the steerer tube, but you would need to buy the Gusset Hollow Star Nut Kit to go with it. Thanks, Mark

Ruari

Hi there, I've broken my bottom bracket on my inspired flow 20" I was just wondering what bottom bracket does it take?

Posted by Ruari on 27/08/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 30/08/2016

Hi Ruari - Either the Shimano UN-26 or First Square Taper BBs (both can be found in our "Square Taper Bottom Brackets" section) would fit fine. Thanks, Mark

Matt

Will there ever be a dual disc flow 20 ?

Posted by Matt on 02/11/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 03/11/2016

Hi Matt - We haven't heard of any plans to change the Flow 20" bike in the near future, sorry. It may be introduced in future but Inspired haven't indicated that it will be. Thanks, Mark

Daniel

Hi, I've previously emailed enquiring about this particular bike and thank you the response it was really helpful, however I have another final question before a potential purchase. Is this bike available in 24" or 26" as 20" would be far too small for me? Thank you

Posted by Daniel on 08/11/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 08/11/2016

Hi Daniel - If you check out our 24" or 26" Bikes section, or search for Inspired Flow on the website it'll come up for you. Thanks, Mark

Jakob Kristensen

Can you find a new replacement rear wheel for this bike, 20" Inspired 135 mm Hub.

Posted by Jakob Kristensen on 21/03/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 22/03/2017

Hi Jakob - There aren't any 'off the shelf' wheels available, but we can custom build one if required. If you'd like to know more about this, feel free to e-mail us. Thanks, Mark

Nicolas Proulx

Hi, so i have a friend who his 4foot 10 and i wanted to know, since h'es almost at the limit, how much could we raise the 5foot limit by changing for example the stem and fitting some arcade's bars like matty turner does.?

Posted by Nicolas Proulx on 23/06/2014

Reply from TartyBikes on 23/06/2014

Hi Nicolas - thanks for your question. You could increase the cockpit size a few inches - maybe up to 5'4", or 5'5" - by doing that, but it would likely affect how the bike handles. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

Brett Chainey

Hi - Would you be able to put a bashplate on this flow 20 - i have a bashring on there that come with the bike but would i be able to have a bashring on this bike - If i could would i have to take of the bashring? Thanks Brett

Posted by Brett Chainey on 17/07/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 17/07/2015

Hi Brett - thanks for your question. You cannot fit a bashplate to this frame or bike. Sorry about that! Thanks, Flipp.

tom mortlock jackson

hi, i wondered (as i am after a 20" inch inspired) if there was a way you could put a disc on the back. i am currently on a dual disc and wondered if both bikes i am hoping to get will b able to have dual disc. if not how good are the v-brakes??? cheers, tom

Posted by tom mortlock jackson on 07/05/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 11/05/2015

Hi - There is no disc tab, so you couldn't reliably fit a disc brake, sorry. The V-Brake performs excellently when set up well with good pads. Regards.

Matt Bowers

this bike vs the onza pro compare and tell me the best one please

Posted by Matt Bowers on 26/01/2016

Reply from TartyBikes on 27/01/2016

Hi Matt - The Flow and the Pro are different bikes for different types of riding, so there's no 'best' one as such. The Flow is designed for younger riders who want to try street trials riding, and are between 1.2m/4ft - 1.5m/5ft. The Onza Pro is designed for older riders who want to ride more competition/traditional style trials, and are 5ft tall or over. If you're over 5ft and want to try out street trials riding the 24" Flow would be the better option as it's sized appropriately. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Thanks, Mark
