hi there i am thinking about buying this item and i would like to no would this item fit on the echo urban forks and also woud this item fit the inspired bars cheers tom

Hi Tom - The Echo forks use a standard 1 1/8" steerer tube (as does this stem), and the Inspired bars use a 31.8mm bar clamp (as do all the stems on our site). I can't see any problems with using them together! Thanks, Mark

I have the onza pro 2013 does it fit?

Hello - This stem (in both sizes!) should fit your Pro perfectly. Thanks, Mark

What size bolts (m6 x ?) are used in the steer tube and bar clamp? Thanks guys.

Hi Mark - thanks for your question. The four bolts in the bar clamp are M6 x 18mm, and the two in the steerer clamp are M6 x 20mm. Cheers, Flipp.

Hey guys, if i buy this stem do i need to seperatly buy a topcap? Or is it only if the stem is sloped you need to buy a sloping topcap?

Posted by John on 11/03/2015

Reply from TartyBikes on 12/03/2015

Hi John - if you already have a flat top cap, that will work perfectly with this stem. All stems that use a flat top cap will work with all flat top caps, so whilst you could buy a new one, the existing one on your bike, or any old ones you might find in your shed will also be fine. Sloping top caps are exclusively necessary for sloping stems. Hope that helps. Thanks, Flipp.

David Mullin

if my forks are cut sloped to fit a sloped stem, can i use this stem and a flat cap??

Hi David - You may need to cut your steerer flat to allow this. The rear of your steerer tube needs to ideally be at least level with the top steerer clamp bolt, otherwise the stem won't function properly. This may mean you need to trim your steerer down, but as long as you have some excess steerer tube this should be no problem. Thanks, Mark

Tharun Shiv

Hello tartybikes! Im looking forward to buy this stem for my echo lite mk5 and i mainly use it for Street riding and im confused between 165 mm or 150mm, and my height is 5 foot 7 inches. Which one would you recommend!? Thanks in advance!

Posted by Tharun Shiv on 31/07/2017

Reply from TartyBikes on 31/07/2017

Hi Tharun - It sounds like the 150mm stem might be more suitable for you. It'll give you more bar height than the standard stem fitted, but won't make the reach of the bike longer. This will help keep your bike nice and maneuverable. One thing to note is that if the stem is being fitted to the standard forks, double check that there is enough steerer tube remaining to match the clamp height of the stem. As the standard Echo bikes have sloping top cap stems, it's possible the rear of the steerer tube may be too low. Thanks, Mark

Chang Hyun Kwon

I use Radix v1 frame & Echo headsets ,fork. Does it fit ?

Posted by Chang Hyun Kwon on 13/12/2013

Reply from TartyBikes on 13/12/2013

Hi Chang - thanks for your question. That will fit absolutely fine, so long as your steerer is long enough. Thanks, Flipp.

Callum Robson

Will this stem fit on Onza 20" cromo forks? Thanks in advance, Callum :)

Posted by Callum Robson on 14/11/2011

Reply from TartyBikes on 15/11/2011

Hi Callum - All our stems should fit those forks. The only thing you need to make sure of is that you've got the right bar diameter to fit them. Our stems require an over-sized (31.8mm) bar clamp, so if your Onza is a pre-2010 model then you may need to change your bars too. Thanks, Mark

Amazing stem

Posted by Ed on 08/02/2012

I bought this stem to put on my 26" as I wanted a longer and higher stem due to the fact I am tall and this one feels amazing! It handles really nice and the geo is really sweet on my Echo pure 2011.

Good price and excellent modification for tall people on a mod, I'm 6.2" and now have some more room to move.

Good stem

Posted by Bede on 10/09/2014

I've barely had this stem a week, but like it a lot. It seems well made (unlike the V!Z stem it replaced), includes good quality fastenings, and doesn't creak. Be aware of the additional stack height if you're switching from a stem with a sloping top cap. I'm 6'3"ish with long arms, and have the 165mm version above a 15mm spacer fitted to my 26" Echo Pure.

Posted by Pete on 21/01/2015

I'm 6'5" tall and bought this stem (180mm) for a 24" frame. It is perfect ... lite, nice finish, well-made. 35º combined with 180mm makes my 620mm-reach frame feel like it was custom built for me. And I can't believe that it took less than 48 hours from when I ordered it, to when I had it in my hands ... in Utah, USA!

Great stem

Posted by Seth on 25/02/2015

I purchased this stem (165x35) because I was feeling a little cramped with my 150x30 stem. I ride a 995 echo lite with 80mm rise and this stem feels perfect! The length and angle has a nice neutral feel to me (and I'm 5'6"/167cm tall). Also I love that this stem has a broad clamping area to the steerer and a removable clamp for the handlebars. The stem feels totally solid and it got here quick thanks to Tarty! Thanks again guys!
